The guy is one of the the best fighters in boxing right now....and besides that he is a likable dude. I understand all the hate Floyd got for always flashing wealth and creating a persona that was easy to dislike, but Crawford is exact opposite of that. He always talk real, does things for his community, and is a humble like fighters back in the day. His resume is not incredible, but is he to blame for it? If PBC been freezing him out for years and Arum is not making fights for him...how is it Crawfords fault? I'm glad he is finally getting to fight someone out of PBC stable. I see Crawford being first to stop Porter.
I don’t hate him but I hate how overrated he is. Yea he’s good but he thinks he’s p4p #1 despite having one of the weakest resumes compared to all the other top guys
Purely talking skills he is one of the best fighters in boxing, If not the best. Resume yeah I agree.
I went to high school with him for a little while and he bragged about being such a great fighter and that he was going to be rich.. Where I'm from people wasn't feeling that at all and didn't belive him..lol He kept getting into fights and had to move because he was not winning them.. He would have gotten himself hurt badly or killed.. Now we all still talk about him and root for him..lol You can't even find that he went to our school on the internet anywhere...lol
This story sounds kind of off. How are you losing school fights as a talented boxer with a wrestling background
His ego doesn't match his resume and despite that he's more than happy milking fans. The fighter he seemed most eager to face was the shell of Pac, which I thought was weak. He's said multiple times he doesn't need or care about the Spence fight. Just hard to like him for me. I can't deny his talent though... he's awesome and I enjoy watching him fight.
I have nothing against him as a person, but I do think he's doing the minimum to stay on the A list and not an iota more. I'd rather support a guy who's doing the absolute most he's capable of than someone who's been on cruise control for several years, even if the all out guy isn't quite as good. In general though, I don't have a morality requirement for fighters. Anyone can lose a six on one, maybe?
As with others here, I find it nuts that he features on Pound For Pound lists despite his resume lacking any real depth. Widely outpointing or stopping Porter will go a little way towards rectifying this, but he's at the stage in his career where he should really be pushing for big fights at Welterweight or even Light Middleweight.
One of my favourite fighters out there right now. If not my favourite. Looking forward to watching him facing better oposition, though. But Porter is fair enough, so nothing to add, he's in the right direction now.
Yes he is. He chose to resign with Arum knowing he'd be paid more to fight bums in Omaha. Knowing PBC had all the other titles. Crawford gets hate for doing what most people would do, choosing easy paydays over legacy.
