I agree with you 100% people do need to watch who they take advice from. It is the same thing for me, I found this website on my last deployment, and have been using it, but just started posting really. I don't know why people would hate if you were proud of your heritage, as long as you know that Uncle Sam was the one signing your paychecks every first and fifteenth.

to the original poster, because this is a forum and it good to hear other fighters/people opinions..
there is never 1 correct answer or only 1 way of doing things. if you think your trainer has ALL the answers i would have to say you are an idiot..

However asking someone who knows you, your talent, ability, strengths, weaknesses is a good idea, but your coach does not know everything, its part of being human mate.

lol you learn at the gym asking different trainers and watching other experience boxers and boxers with different styles... you dont learn **** from internet experts must probably will end up getting hurt following advises here instead of your coaches

Felix Trinidad fought with the same coach his whole career, same with Wilfredo Benitez and Wilfredo Gomez. And i know there are a bunch of other examples of Hall of Fame fighters that never changed coaches.

What you're saying doesn't even back up what you're arguing. So what if some boxers never changed coaches? We all know you learn at the gym, but there's nothing wrong with asking for an opinion, a different view on a matter concerning boxing, at the gym or on the Internet. You can take that opinion and write it off as stupid or you can talk to your coach about something someone suggested that you may like to try. If he says it wouldn't work or whatever then it's forgotten. What don't you understand about that? I don't see your problem.

My 2 coaches speak about 10 words of English between them so the training section on this site is great for me.

Maybe people on the internet know something that your coach dosen't?

Its always good to have a second opinion on things especially from a completely different angle. Helps you tweak your coaches ideas to make them even better. The coach is one person following one opinion, his own. Which is good cause i can trust myself under his opinion but doesn't mean what he says can't be said better. Also like Brown said, your coach wasn't born with a boxing manual. A forum is much faster, convenient way to learn. Your point is being mistaken because your taking it as the word 'internet' which nowadays seems to mean 'wherenerdsmeetupandtalk****'. Research is the good side of the internet and we help eachother learn more by understanding bits and pieces and putting them all together
