Why so much hate for the WBO around here

Lack of credibility due to their dubious and biased ranking system. Fighters associated with Frank Warren for example mysteriously find themselves with a high ranking/mandatory status despite fighting nobody of note.

 

I consider WBC, WBA super, IBF and WBO tiltles the same and to be the only real titles.

IBO, WBA regular, WBC Diamond, Lineal Champion tag etc just pointless.

 

I guess one other point is that the WBO seemed like the wrong answer to a question that everyone was asking?

Q What is boxing to do with a situation where there are three separate bodies awarding world titles?

A set up a fourth body awarding world titles and make the situation even worse in the process for everybody except the promoters.

 

there is nothing wrong wirth seeing WBO as legit after 2005 when they became recognised by all the other divisions and their defences became recognised as legit defences.

Every belt went through this period, it was the same with the IBF in the mid80s...at the time Larry was lambasted for relying on it and the lineal to probably lengthen his reign by an extra 2 years.

 

All the governing bodies are a bit of a joke to be honest. WBO are no worse than others despite making Yarde lhw mandatory.

Worst at moment by a long way is WBA with their just stupid regular poundland belt.

 

no worse than any of the others. The diamond belt stuff and super champ thing is ridiculous with other titles. It makes the title fights not even matter. It doesn't help things it diminishes boxing.
