first of all i dont want it to turn into another boxing vs MMA thread as i appreciate both sides, ground fighting and boxing equally (almost). ultimately you need to know both and only standing/ground fighting is not enough, despite of what some idiots here are saying.

anyway, i've been wondering why so many boxing fans is bashing MMA? is it because they dont wanna admit that even best boxer might loose to someone with solid ground fighting skills and ultimately boxing is not universal and best of all?
is it because of ignorance and because they never fought any grappler neither learned wrestling/bjj or similar?

also what makes some people say things like all MMA fighters are talentless bums and top boxers, if only wanted would rule in bjj, wrestling etc. that is what really pisses me off cause those top grapplers spend their lives perfecting various techniques and to say they got no talent (at least some of them) is imo damn disrespectful and pretty dumb. there is a LOT of ****ing skills involved in ground fighting

ok, when you got clicked on a chin you will go down and so much for you ground fighting, but again once it goes to the ground boxer would get submitted by anyone with any ground fighting skills and some people here do not want to admit it for some reason, again why is that?

Ground fighting can be learned in a month... (By a chimp)
Stand-up can be taught, but the majority will never be effective.

Balance & Tech can't be learned by everyone.
(+ Conditioning in most MMA fighter's need's to be stepped up)

That said... Ground & Pound is alright I guess.
    But a K.O. with either a hand/foot/strike always beat's male doggystyle.

All the reactions of boxing fans to MMA are motivated by the confrontational marketing of MMA. End of story.

thats exactly what i'm talking about.. ground fighting can be learned in a month :patsch so why those top boxers won't spend 2-3 months, learn it really, really well (3 months should be enough time :p) then jump in a cage and show everyone how easy is that and that boxing rules all?
as dumb as it sounds ground fighters could simply say ..cover your chin, take the guy down and submit him... sounds almost too easy but we all know it dosent quite work this way so statement like learn ground fighting in a month sound pretty dumb to me (nooffence though)

Bring a guy from MMA to a boxing match and he loses, put a boxer in an MMA match and he loses. That doesn't prove anything, just proves that the boxer dedicated his life learning boxing and the MMA fighter dedicated his life learning MMA.

As far as disrespect goes, it's MMA and the people behind it showing disrespect to a legendary sport like boxing. Boxing fans are only firing back and boxing in general could care less how hard MMA tries to hype its fights and fighters through boxing.

One month! You have no clue what you are talking about.

How long has Randy Couture been training in Wrestling? How long has Fedor been training in Sambo? How long has the pioneer of the sport Royce Gracie Trained in BJJ ?

ive noticed in mma the best fights and fighters seem 2 take a boxing stance and approach to their game plan...i mean a punch can be throwin quick and short...or long and powerful...combinations etc...elbows r extremely short range, kicks/ knees i would have to say are very effective but can be telegraphed pretty easy...and it seems the best in mma arent that great and i heard that those serious fresh off the boat kung fu masters are not allowed....whats up with that or is it just rumours?

MMA sucks a fat baby dick
Now get this bull**** outa here, if any of us gave half a **** about MMA we would be posting in the MMA forum or a strictly MMA site.....This has been gone over time and time again.
Fact is if we liked a couple of ***s putting each other in leglocks or a half nelson we would be where I described

damn true, i cant see mma fighter winning anything with boxing rules and vice versa, although anything might happen but thats rare exceptions. furthermore it also depends on type of fighters involved imo

there are idiots on both sides, but i also reckon that boxing fans feel insecured by mma's growing popularity.., cannot quite understand why.. its almost like they making a living out of it and it was just about to end or sth

because i dont like to see two men hugging and laying beatween the legs of another men,,,that's its just gay. And besides as someone put it before in anotherpost the best MMA fights are when they didnt go to the ground to fight.
