This should go in the lounge (or better still a personal diary), not the MMA forum. :nono

Don't really think some feel insecure, there were times when WWE was being compared to boxing in terms of rising success and PPV sales, believe it or not. In the end all those sports RELATE to boxing since they're considered "fighting" with the exception of the fakeness WWE shows.

Usually it's the other sports that poke jokes at boxing as they succeed. It's more MMA rubbing their success all over boxing and it's fans than boxing fans feeling insecure about their success to be honest. It's all competition though boxing doesn't fall in the same category as MMA to be considered a competitor. If it was something similar to WWE/WCW then sure I'll agree but this far from it.

    1. i saw a discovery anchor guy who almost beat a trained MMA fighter in ground fighting in his show. that was the anchor's first time trying and training (for a couple of hours)MMA.

you wouldn't see that anchor almost beating an experienced boxer if its the anchor's first time lacing up gloves. it just shows that there are higher skill levels required in stand-up fighting.

    2. In street fights, going to the ground is not the instinctive reaction of men and its highly impractical. ground fighting is good only in a secured mat. most thinking fighters would prefer to stand up in a street fight.

I'm a fan of both and there is way more skill in boxing. Any fighter in mma can win or loose on any given night to much is left up to chance. Just look all of the great fighters have many losses, some more than others.

Exactly right, I'm trying to watch the fight network and I get these freaks thinking they're the best **** on the planet because they dry hump men in a cage, they are the epitome of the "extreme" young culture and it's not only pathetic but embarrasing for those involved. I respect anyone who puts their heart and soul into something they love, but the whole scene goes may over board. The MMA guys at the gym are the worst.

I am not disrespecting MMA. I just find it not that exciting compared to boxing.
