Not sure. But all fair examples. I don't begrudge any fighter a soft touch every now and again, a tune up, a stay busy fight while they wait for a greater opportunity, but it has been the trend in boxing as fights become more and more lucrative, and it only seems to be getting worse all over.

If Floyd, Wilder, Ward and smaller caliber fighters get good money for fighting bums, they will keep fighting them. Money is all they care about.

You might have an argument about Wilder who needs to step up, but Ward cleaned out SMW and was legitimately ducked by top SMWs while his contract situation played out. Mayweather beat the #1 Champ more than once in 4/5 divisions he competed in, A.Berto is a laughable opponent for PBF but would be the best or top 2/3 win on every top WWs resume today but Pac and Tim.

Mayweather vs Berto was a shame.

Ward's opponents quality goes down with every fight: Rodriguez > Smith > Brand.

    Ward doesn't have any shame.

P.S. Mayweather and Ward have been avoiding slick rangy boxers.

Hey leave Mayweather out of this. He faced a lot of good competition.

But bash THE F*CK out of Ward and Wilder because they really need to step it up. Like desperately. It's embarrassing and IMO their "0" losses don't mean ****

Ward has been inactive a tuneup makes since the Kovalev fight is happening next year, and as bad as Berto is/was for Mayweather Andre would still be a top 2/3 win for every other Welter.

Tuneups should go from easier to harder ones, not the other way.

Kovalev fight is not happening next or any other year. As I said, Ward has no shame.

Why are you so determined to hate Ward? I mean I'm a GGG fan too but I don't see why Ward wouldn't fight Kovalev and try to become a ppv star and an ATG at the same time.

ward gets too much hate on here imo, but you can't be ducked when you legally aint allowed to fight.

Floyd made a mockery of the sport of boxing at times. Not all the times but far more than less. I liked the post jail sentence Floyd. He was much more humble, pleasant to talk to and just seemed to have grown up. I think those 90 days in jail did him some good.

    You forgot to add:
    Kovalev fighting Mohammedi
    GGG fighting Monroe Jr.

I'm pretty sure both Khomitsky and Boudla were both much better opponents than Berto caliber wise.
