We all agree Roy Jones continuing to fight is meaningless and unnecessary so can someone explain why Pacquiao is doing the same? What is the point of an aging veteran coming out of retirement to face Jesse Vargas? Does Pac just really love that WBO title....no one else on boxing seems to care much about it. Floyd chose Berto as a final opponent and people complained yet Pac is literally coming out of retirement to face Vargas...aren't you suppose to fight the best when you do that? Ray Leonard came out out retirement and fought Hagler right? And yes Floyd once returned and fought Marquez, with the exception of the weight controversy JMM is a worthy opponent, I ultimately dint have an issue with that fight. So Pac fans tell me why not Thurman, Spence, Crawford, Garcia, hell even Malignaggi? Pac should not be sharing a ring with Jesse Vargas, that's a weak move by his team.
pac is really leaving leaving a sour taste after a pretty stellar career....oh well...its his life I guess
For a fighter of Pac's calibre it would be better to retire than fight Jesse Vargas...and on PPV, I want to see how Max and Lampley sugar coat this one
I assume Vargas isn't the end game. Feel like Pac is waiting around to see what Mayweather does trying to set up another big payday (likely with the same result). At the same time let's not act like he is faded to the point of Roy Jones, he is still easily a top 5 welterweight
oh for crying out loud...Floyd only picked berto to replay him for canceling the mosley fight so Floyd himself could fight him....even then berto was a farewell fight..... vargas is a weak fight....pac ducked broner...why though?
Just a setup showcase fight to try and lure Floyd back. Had Crawford-Postol delivered big buys, he'd probably have gone there. That's why they waited until the results were out to make the Vargas fight.
Thurman, Spence, Garcia, Crawford, Porter would of drew the complaints of no one but Pac fans who care about his health.
