Why such a big fight?

Froch has never been enough of a draw to fill a stadium before and Groves is a young man with all his biggest fights ahead, so is still trying to build a fan base.

Is the real reason that this fight is such a seller that so many people believe that Groves was robbed last time out and want to see Froch beaten?

    - Its a domestic world title fight
    - They seem to really hate each other
    - First fight was very good, everything points to the second being equally as good
    - Very good PR machine

I don't get it either, but it's a good local fight so I suppose that's the reason.Neither fighter has any fan base here in the US,but Eddie has done a terrific job hyping this for the UK fans.Good on him,he is really the star of this event.

    'Local fight'

Just because neither fighter has a following in the US doesn't mean US boxing fans won't watch it, otherwise why would HBO bother to pick it up. The world doesn't revolve round the United States, there's interest all across Europe, Australia etc. I guess Ali vs Frazier was a good local/domestic fight aswell, 2 Americans fighting in America...

I think the first fight broke some sort of record for how fast it sold out so I dont think its just the way it ended thats caused this there was massive demand for the first fight I was ringside and wat a fight and atmosphere it was but I think the controversial end has added to it. Its just a good old fashioned young lion v old lion both british both dislike each other both very good fighters with a 50/50 chance and there stlyes gel to make hell of a fight thats why its massive

I know it doesn't translate like for like, just making a conversation of it.
No it won't do the PPV but that is because (in part) it is being in the USA on regular HBO.

The brits have always got behind there athletes more than the Americans with both fighters being brits we rarely see this at this level the best yanks always fight the best yanks if u get me. Its obviously a good thing for british boxing I dont see the point in questioning it just enjoy the event hopefully wel see more like it in the future and boxing can become a huge sport like football is here

I was in the gym yesterday and when the Sky Sports tactics show came on EVERYONE stopped to watch it.

That's why it's so big. It's truly captured the imagination of people who don't follow the sport in any way, shape or form.
