I feel like as boxing fans, we are by-in-large always in state of want because boxing politics encourage a business model that only takes calculated risks - allowing fighters to remain undefeated and marketable. Fans reinforce this model by labeling fighters who have lost as bums, washed up and never any good. This creates a feedback loop that sustains itself and we're left where we are today. So really, our attitudes and opinions have contributed to this climate of the best avoiding the best in our appraisals of fighters who have taken risks and lost. I honestly think the availability of internet access, anonymous interactions, gaslighting and trolling have encouraged a calloused and cynical view of the "undefeated" fighter as the only marketable kind of fighter. What is your opinion?
