Why the change of Perception on JMM?

Because this place hosts the most reactionary bunch of biased fans on the interweb.

 

It's not a change of perception JMM is a career featherweight who only fought twice as a lightweight it's very obvious he wont be succesful above lightweight and the way he added so much muscle to his body to give him a shot at welterweight he no longer will be able to go back down to lightweight and be effective thats just my opinion but I won't be surprised if he gets beat by a lesser fighter at lightweight in the coming future.

 

Are there a whole lot in the lower weights you think could beat Marquez? Marquez still dominates these guys. JMM bounces off well from knockdowns. If he shows the same level of resiliency coming off from this loss, then he bounces back to produce more good fights. Just not above 140.

 

That's VERY typical in boxing and can't be changed apprently. Fans get overexcited if a fighter loses or wins. If a fighter wins then NO ONE beats him and if he loses then everyone whops his ass easily. When Hatton lost to Mayweather people had him losing to Lazcano and Malignagg in predictions. Same thing happened to Pac when he lost to Morales, you could mention a corpse vs Pac and people will say corpse by UD, now that he's on a win streat NO ONE beats him. That's normal and typical, shouldn't be strange and you will get used to it soon.

Whoever shits on Marquez for this loss is IDIOTIC. The man was moving up two weight divisions and he knew that his only hope is to see Mayweather TOO rusty and take him out of there, he knew a "boxing" match wasn't going to go well. No one knew if Mayweather will fight and move like before nor show serious speed. When he did it was apparent JMM had no chance. JMM's pick of opponent was insanely risky especially when all he could rely on is his opponent not performing as he used to, even Mayweather his self didn't know how he will perform till he got in there.

Marquez gambled, he took a major risk, that's what a true beast does. The man moved up two weight division to go in the ring smaller than none other than Mayweather Jr., even when Mayweather failed to make the catchweight Marquez didn't call it off even though he was a huge underdog and escaping was VERY possible there. In all honesty, for Mayweather to copy what Marquez did he should move to MIDDLEWEIGHT and fight Pavlik/Williams winner, that's how risky it was for Marquez.

I pick Marquez to dominate 140 if he stays dedicated there as he says he will.

 

When has a fighter not been shot or overatted after a loss on ESB ? I remember even when Pac lost to Morales you would have thought he was a clubfighter to hear people talk.

Fight Fans are fickle bunch.

When Pac lost to Morales, he was no better than face first brawlers who would lose to the first good boxer with power he meets. No one would have even dared say he would have gone as far as he did today (with a few notable exceptions and I along with a lot of others questioned their sanity).

Im sure Roy Jones had the same amount of blind support when he was at the top of his game. Once he started losing, a lot of people said he was glass jawed and wouldn't last with certain fighters even in his prime.

Annoying? You bet it is. but what can you do? That's how fight fans are. Its not like having a team and sticking with it since fighters do not last forever or as long as professional teams so people tend to hang on and dump them a lot easier.

yes hatton did fare better than marquez because the power issue...pacman has more power...just watch hatton-pacman match last may 2...hatton that was knock out in the tenth round by mayweather was a tired and weak one trying to catch mayweather...but the hatton that was knock out by pacman was still strong and felt he just hurt pacman with combo just before being bomb out....:deal
