Fury is a beltholder. Everyone he fights is supposed to be in the top fifteen. Charr currently would be lucky to be in the top one hundred. If he wants Charr, how about we sub in Breidis? If he wants to fight bums like Charr, he needs to relinquish his belt.

So this will be Fury's justification for defending against a guy with 13 losses.

so you like Usyk fighting one time a year & you think Fury should do the same?

    I don't understand the mentality.

Fury will be ready when Usyk is ready.
but it makes sense for him (and for boxing!) to make a defence in the meantime.

    maybe I'm too old school
I just want to see fights

I've no interest in that fight if it gets announced, hopefully Joshua finds his balls in the next couple of days then Fury can fight Wilder-Wilder-Whyte-Joshua-Usyk back to back which I'm sure we can agree is an outstanding run of opponents.

That would be the case in an either or situation, but this isn't one.

He can fight AJ in Dec. Then Usyk however many months after.

I don't think many people are suggesting he doesn't fight at all.

He can fight AJ in Dec.

The entire premise of this thread is that it's OK if he fights Charr because it's a 'tune up'..

The point is it's not OK, because he can fight AJ.

Has nothing to do with thinking he should stay inactive.

I think it's a ATG troll fight as long as he retires after the Usyk fights.
If he ends up giving Hearn-J the pay-days after Usyk, it would undermine the whole thing.

If the 'most lucrative fight in the UK', that Hearn-J have dreamed about for so long(of course when they were A-side), was abandoned for a clown fight with Charr, there's something oddly perfect about it all. It would haunt Hearn forever.

Because he led the public to believe he wanted Aj, when it couldn't be further from the truth

Charr might be too risky, I expect it will be chisora next

Or he could have fight since April like 2x time already and not facing 12 months inactivity ? And he would have fight Usyk in an early 2023, instead of trying to handicap Usyk on short camp ???

So? Usyk would have had many months out too by then.

a guy who has had two bum fights in five years and wasn't much good anyway. Why is he even in the conversation?

Now isn't the time for tune-ups. He only fought in April, has kept himself ticking over in the meantime. A decent opponent is required for December, even if it can't be Usyk or Joshua.

But he isn't fighting Charr, so...
