He should be fighting Andy Lee. I agree with Emanuel when he says Martinez is doing essentially the same thing he accused Chavez Jr. doing (although not as flagrant IMO). Lee is without a doubt one of the most underrated fighters on the planet and he has world class potential.

Macklin is a level above Barker, and Barker was able to make Sergio look little better than average.

Sergio is getting up their in age.....can't imagine it would be too much longer before a decent MW is able to take him down. Could be Macklin for all we know.:deal

How ironic isn't? Who has Lee fought again?

Its not only Martinez but it seems he is the only taking the "heat", atleast on any boxing forum, for not fighting the "best". Yet, those they call the best don't fight each other either i.e. Pirog, GGG, Proksa, Strum, Lee, Quillin etc. :verysad

I like Martinez but lets be honest, who has he really fought? Most people (including myself) judge Martinez's skill using the "eye test" because the big names keep avoiding him. Lee gets avoided as well and like Martinez, he passes the "eye test" in my book. He's a very hard puncher with great accuracy and balance. I've seen him fight ringside and the sound of the punches he lands are heavy duty... much harder than Martinez's.
