He got caught having a thomas the tank in the dog biscuit aisle in tesco whilst looking at pictures in the crufts magazine
Come on, let's be fair. I'm a massive fan of Crolla and don't really care about Gallagher either way, but Crolla was losing that fight badly (unlike the first which was competitive). If he had got badly hurt in the last, how many people would have been slating Gallagher for not pulling him out. It's a thankless task as a trainer and it's not like Crolla hadn't been stopped before. IMO, putting a stoppage loss on someone's record is the lesser of two evils compared to gambling with their health. Crolla saw the final bell and fair does to him, but he didn't have the power to turn it around. How many times have we seen fights and wondered why trainers didn't pull out a guy who had taken a beating and had no chance of winning. Kostya Tszyu's trainer did similar against Hatton in a much more competitive fight and he was the defending champ and favourite going in. Sometimes you have to err on the side of caution.
He is deeply unlikeable ... Probably a lot of it is unfair. I don't think looking scruffy and out of shape helps, not that it should matter for a trainer. But combined with his arrogance it makes it more difficult to warm to him. Also doesn't help that he shouldn't be anywhere near a genuine world class talent. Maximising British/European level fighters should be his remit. There always seems to be a mic near him as well ... "Lovleh jab Liam. Lovleh"
I normally agree with coaches pulling fighters out but Crolla had come through the worst of it, if Gallagher was going to pull him out it should of been a few rounds beforehand. Seems like he just wanted the attention and drama regardless of the fact that the fight had calmed down. There is nothing much worse for a fighter than a stoppage/knockout loss
He use to post on here years ago, wonder what he would think of this place now ? My guess would be it’s gone to the dogs!!
