Agreed...IMO if Dirrell and Froch were to rematch...I think Dirrell would give him a beating this time around.
come on man...all us europeans have watched Ali,Frazier,Tyson,Hagler,Hearns ect. ect. all the great fighters!! It has NOTHING to do with nationalities:-(
he didn't fight dirty if you watched the fight. It was Green who on every opportunity was clinching Ward's arm the whole time.
I have no hate. This is coming from a guy who is British, hates Dirrell and is a fan of very few American fighters. He reminds me a little of SRL.
I rate dirrel as a better fighter but he lost to froch so gets rated lower. hopefully well see froch v ward in the semis, then we will see who is better
There's not a lot of hate for Ward, most people are just calling it as it is. He's a talented fighter. He's also awkward, dirty, and many times boring to watch. Calzaghe would tear him apart.
Nobody ever came close to smashing any version of calzaghe easy. Thats a wild statement dude. Ward is great at what he does, i think he is great fighter but a spoiler and very wise with the rules. Would give calzaghe a great fight of it... but smash calzaghe easy?.. come on man
Europeans don't actually HATE Ward. They are just nervous about what is about to happen to their champions once they get in the ring with Ward and he makes them look like the stiff amateur fighters they really are. Well, let me take that back. Froch isn't exactly stiff. In fact, he's as loose as a goose in a bucket of juice with his hands scratching his knees ala Joe Calfaggy imitating an imitation of an American fighter. Ward has these European fans so scared they pissing their Ale as fast as they drinkin it.
You haven't named any present day american fighters that you europeans give credit to. And I think like a week or two ago there was a thread with a bunch of you from the UK saying how Haye is better than Tyson ever was. I'm not saying it's all of the europeans on here but an awful lot of hate on any fighters that are american.
lol DOH! anyhow, i happen to be an Andre Ward superfan, but definitely not into nuthugging or blindlove.... IF there's an opponent that could definitely outshine him he would be acknowledged. Joe Calzaghe could/would be that person if there was a fight ever to happen at both of their primes. But that wont happen. Second best thing is to let Andre Ward continue to fight and win and show his greatness. Ward IS Proven, but not yet Established. He will be once he gets in 30+ fights. Why the hate? My personal speculations - 1) Die-hard Joe Calzaghe fans feel Ward is infringing on Joe's greatness and fear Ward will overshadow him in time 2) The very few "Headbutting Conspiracy theorists" that i see on this forum. Their viewpoints are extemely laughable and provide me great entertainment. Their next prediction - Andre Ward win over Andre Dirrell, 10th rd TKO stoppage by headbutt (my next prediction w/o headbutt). Not sure how one racks up 22 wins, 0 disquals by headbutts in boxing.... im sure the conspiracy theorists have a very logical explanation for that. 3) There are some who seem to have very strong views against Andre Ward, though admittedly not watching much of him. Ummm ok. Its alright to have strong and passionate viewpoints, but let them be educated ones! Look at Andre Ward's pro fighting history and he rarely loses a single round in a fight. There's something magical happening here that spells victory. Watch him closely and often, and find out how and why he wins every round.... 4) Some are turned off with some of the "dirtyboxing/infighting" that he does. Unfortunately, that is an element of boxing, and large part of Ward's many subtleties that he uses to ensure victory. Its used more or less depending on the opponents style. Employed much vs Miranda and Green, who are both big punchers. Froch himself doesnt like this style either, who called it "Jab & Maul" technique. Sounds familiar? Very Mayweather-esque vs heavyhanders. Yeah.... he's not so popular either. 5) Some are just plain doubters, which is fine too. They make up every reason for the loser to have lost. I would call this the Allen Green syndrome. Its funny how people will uprate and boost up a fighter pre-fight, and then totally downrate him post-fight after his lost. Some peeps are so afraid of losing that they'd rather put some on an under dog and half-expecting him to lose, than to commit everything on a winning fighter who has a chance to lose. Andre Ward just seems to be too good to be true to commit full hope in. But a loss isnt everything. And im sure Andre Ward will take one like a man, and with class, and with no lousy excuses.
