the purses were always put as estimates based on purses which have been open to the public. i never claimed to know fighter x is getting $xx.xx

personally i think your knowledge of the media is less than you believe it to be based on comments you have made such as fwank w*rren having no responsibility for james degales public relations.

I always get the impression you read selectively. Did I ever say that Frank had no responsibility at all for DeGale's PR? No, I'm pretty sure I said it's not his fault DeGale's unpopular.

Frank's done a good job with James, IMO. British and Euro titles, the match with Groves, featuring on the undercard at Upton Park, etc. He's given him plenty of exposure and some decent fights.

But he can't make the guy likeable, because he's not. Even when he won the Gold the press never really took to him and, on Setanta, he came across like a complete ****. He had the same smug attitude to Darren Sutherland that he had to Groves years later.

And that went tits up when he lost, because it justified people's dislike for him. If he'd won, it was somewhat forgiveable, cause then you're the guy people love to hate. They watch to see you get beaten. But he'd skipped to that step straight away.

It was a mistake he, and his trainer, made. So yes, Frank is responsible for getting him out there, in the news, etc. But once he's there, he's not got much control over what DeGale says.

And just looking at that Ringside, it all went to James' head. But he was there to promote the fight, which it did. Didn't you claim DeGale was a big ticket seller because of that fight?

But please, tell me your expertise in marketing. I'm desperate to know how many blue chip companies you've written copy for, or provided advice for on their internal/external campaigns, how many magazines you've increased circulation of by 30% in six months, or even how many PR agencies you've seen trying to control utterly mental clients who want to say what they want to say.

i disagree. degale could come across as likeable if he was trained properly. theres plenty of people in the entertainment landscape which our complete twats but the public like them, even in boxing. pro footballers get media training why couldnt degale? its what i would do if i was his manager.
