Rob's tirade on Limond was embarrassing, it was worse than Pad-Man's meltdown over the Kompany red card FFS. Nelson seems like a great bloke, but you could just imagine him having a little laugh to himself whilst he's typing some of what he writes.... perhaps whilst eating some popcorn at the same time. At the end of the day, he's helped transformed a nobody who might have been destined for life as a fringe operator/journeyman into a genuine world level operator, so he's always going to have the last laugh, no matter what anyone says. I've never been so happy to lose £75 in all my life, the night he beat Martinez. Felt like those guys off ''Snatch'', shouting ''DO NOT TRY AND KNOCK HIM OUT'' at the ****ing TV. Was great stuff.
worse than his u-turn on Booth/Haye after the on-off again Klitschko talks? I remember him asking Bunce a question re: Booth on the BBC show (one of Bunce's threads to promote the show) and Bunce responded that Booth wasn't live, well Palmer again went off on a paddy!! :-(
thing with nelson he gives as much as he gets ,hes no a kid and thick skinned ....maybe the OP didnt know that ? As for Bunce, this needs to be addressed, the guy used to bang on about how he "Telling it like it was" and how the Sky guys were toeing the line, but we all know he is basically that now hes on BN... nothign wring with that but we as sibscribers and boxing fans have the right to pull him up on that ...
Erm.... hard to say. At the time of the Limond rant he was a bit of a rent-a-quote who didn't watch his P's & Q's (like I've always been in fairness) - and Limond was a pretty popular fighter on here given that he was denied the rematch with Khan and had been on the outer for quite some time with injuries and what not.... and saw a fight with Salita in NYC fall through. At the time, most of us hadn't seen Salita or been made aware that he was offered a fortune to fight Cotto and rejected it.... and he had a nice looking record, so obviously being US based he was the favourite. By the time of the Haye/Klit carry on he'd become a boxing insider who knew everything about everything (both in and out of boxing), so the meltdown was worse. Again, I had my fair share of things to say about Haye, mainly due to my dislike for him, so I lost perspective too.... but most people were capable of ignoring/tolerating it because I didn't have a meltdown every time I didn't get my own way. P4P I'd say the Limond one was worse, but H2H the ''I helped make it happen'' has to be the GOAT ESB rant/meltdown ever from a Brit forum poster, with the exception of LeeMc's ''football hooligans of London unite against blacks, asians and wiggers'' thread.
No you don't. Stop being a girl over it. If you want him to tell it like it is, read his column in the Independent and listen to him on the Beeb. I still don't get exactly what "hypocrisy" he's committed on BN.
It was painful to watch. Then his emotional meltdown post-Harrison-Haye, followed by his desire for Haye to "kill himself" after the Wlad loss.
Maybe he didn't start the thread and I'm not sure I have the patience to search through all of his Big Dunk/Jonsey posts. Maybe if I'm bored later.
i dont have a problem with him working for BN,i quite like and happy with it,he is a terrible presenter and should just be left as the role of expert ... .But if he is "telling it like it is " you do it all the time ,not just when it suits you ...he was like that on setanta ....
He was? News to me, he was just as opinionated then as now. I also think he's improved massively as a presenter and part of the charm is that he isn't slick like Adam Smith. But that's just personal preference. The only place you get Bunce's unvarnished opinion is in his Independent column.
Nah, I don't read a huge amount of mainstream press. But I do check Bunce's column out - he wrote a brilliant article about Valuev-Haye at the time. Hardly flattering of David's antics either. I tried searching Rob's post history, but it only goes back to last August, so I can't trace it. I'm not sure he started the thread, because it didn't appear under any of his aliases. That said, I didn't try the actual Rob Palmer one...
I did, but Rob is nothing if not mouthy - it only goes back to August last year. :verysad It was the week after the fight, since Rob had been in Las Vegas with his bird, and he basically came out with a stream of abuse. He said Haye should kill himself for that performance because Rob had tried to kill himself for less. If only I'd bookmarked it!
