I've known Billy for a while now outside of boxing through my work. Sometimes what he says and does I actually want to just boot him right in the stones (like most men) but other times he's right in what he says and does and i would just give him a big hug (Love hate). There's been a couple of times when Ricky Burns has been fighting away and I have just tagged along with him and his wife which had been very nice of then to allow me to do that.

I think working within this line of work you have to be a little arrogant and big headed, believe in what you do other wise you wouldn't do it, Billy just takes it to the extreme on here sometimes but he's not ****ed about it then why should anyone else be. This type of job would try anyone's patience the amount of times these guys get ****ed around for fights ect. But again being in the spotlight would get you criticized and you just need to deal with that. Same as the Limond thing bit of a love hate thing,I have been more than vocal about him on here again someone I had known through my work, good guy just didn't get the shots he wanted but I should have been a little more careful who I spout off about on boxing sites when people live so close to your home. Good luck to both of them, like everyone else we are all just out to make money and have a good life. One love xx

Let's have it right, Billy is bang out of order with his comments if your not pro-Ricky. If you doubt the cook fight and say he's a poor opponent who isn't credible then he calls you clueless. If you say Ricky needs a step up from Laryea and Evensen then he slams you for not understanding boxing etc.

Well Froch boxes anybody, how is it right that Billy parades Burns around as this great champion when he NEVER looks to defend against a dangerous opponent. I like Burns but if fighting Cook is seen as an act of a world champ then boxings doomed. Cleverly fights similar fighters (bar Bellew) and gets hate yet as soon as you knock Burns your a hater and anti-Scottish. He picks and chooses questions too, like a grwat thread on Burns will have some good questions, your token bellend will slag Burns off and Billy will avoid all tricky questions and answer the bellends question. All the time too. The Broner duck was just laughable, adds insult when he says that want the fight too. Ricky can't make the weight yet he had the determination to get down for Cook  Broner was there, they ducked, now Billy calls for the fight when he avoided mandatory. Khan got absolutely hammered when people thought he'd duck Maidana yet your anti-Scottish for saying same to Ricky.

In regards to Bunce. He was once sued by Frank and bigs himself up for telling it like it is, straight down the line. He hyped the Haye fight v Audrey. And now is in with Frank he backs ok his word. Now if they are cool that's fine, we can all change. But he doesn't say this, he merely diverts from it. I really like Bunce for his enthusiasm to the sport but unfortunately I'm not as keen on him now as I was, his stock lowered when he joined the 'party line'. His book The Fixer is a great read too.

As for Joe G, that was criminal. The **** that guy got from the pro-Arnie crew was shocking. Arnie, Joe, Billy etc should all be respected, people should not act like sheep eitheer and make their own opinions instead of joining in with others to keep face.

No, I don't expect him to criticise boxnation. All I said was that he's no different to Nelson and McCrory. One reason he got more stick than Nelson and McCrory is because he claimed to be different, claimed to tell it like it is.

I remember certain poster being abusive towards Bunce, calling him a fat **** and what not. This was bang out of order, but I don't remember rob ever getting personal. He's called Bunce out over his comments, which is fine. If you don't agree with rob, fine, but that's all he did. If Bunce or anyone else can't handle this, too bad, they shouldn't join a forum. If you have quotes of rob getting personal and abusing Bunce, I'll happily reconsider my opinion.

As I explained, the hypocrisy is constantly claiming to tell it like it is, and making digs towards Sky, while being no different to them.

Whether he's a good journalist or not has nothing to do with the discussion. How's that relevant? The point I made was that most who criticised him, criticised his work on boxnation, not him as a person. There were only one or two individuals who got personal and abused him. As I said, this was out of order. We're not talking about how good a journalist he is.

As I explained, the hypocrisy was claiming to tell it like it is, but being no different to Sky. I don't always agree with Nelson or McCrory either. They talk **** too. They have never claimed to tell it like is though. If they did, they would attract the same amount of heat.

Bad pizza is fine, but don't go telling everyone it's authentic, italian cuisine when it's not. If you aint what you say you are, you'll attract heat. Bunce is no worse than McCrory or Nelson, but he claimed to be different, claimed to be real. It's that simple.

Yeah fair enough Gaz, I know there are one or two idiots on here who get a kick out of abusing a well known name, but I think rob palmer is just outspoken, rather than rude or abusive.

The boxing promoters all need to put their differences to one side and get this sport a level of decency it used to have....

Its ****ing playground **** sometimes, really is.

I guess "outspoken" is one word you could use.;-)

Robs heart is in the right place but he goes from being totally pragmatic where numbers are concerned (purses, PPV figures etc) to being a complete fantasist in his expectations of boxers, trainers and promoters.

When the **** was Ricky Burns a failed domestic level fighter? He was robbed against Alex Arthur and has only ever once on point to Carl J
