Now before we get started please don't come in here and bash Haymon out of the gate and be an dummy. Take a second to see what i'm writing and see if you agree or disagree and then make a comment.

With that said... I would like to explain to a lot of you why the timing of PBC is literally PERFECT for the sport of boxing. I think the first thing you have to take into consideration is the business model for boxing on Subscription channels like HBO & Showtime. They probably don't make much money from their free to air fights like GGG vs _____ or Danny garcia vs ______ but the objective of showing these fights for free (after having a hbo/showtime subscription) is that they can build up an eventual PPV star which is where they make the big money at. I'm not sure where this started it may have been with Mike Tyson or Oscar De La Hoya but i'm going to lean towards mike tyson and ODLH was the next guy. After ODLH we had floyd mayweather being boxings next super star PPV guy.

Now that the two current best PPV fighters are about to square off most likely (floyd vs pac) boxing will be in a frozen state because there really isn't a guy that can really SELL ppvs at a high rate besides canelo potentially and cotto. I think Haymon saw this moment as an opportunity to put boxing BACK onto network television. With boxing on network television
    This content is protected
, how can I confirm this you ask? From a business standpoint if you think about it, Haymon or whoever runs the match making for PBC won't have to BUILD a fighter because the opportunity to garner fans will be so large (100s of millions of people can be watching network tv vs the 10s of millions who can watch HBO/showtime) that people will naturally gravitate to who they like and pay for a PPV if they REALLY have a love and appreciation for that fighter.

just like in the 70s-80s guys would suffer losses and still have the ability to sell a ppv, that is what you will see from the PBC because your record won't matter as much for generating a great ppv. All that will matter is if you have a lot of fans and you put on a great show in the ring. Hopefully you guys understand this and see how great of an opportunity this is for the sport of boxing. I hope that more and more guys continue to join the PBC and boxing can really re-establish its self in the forefront of the sporting world again.

These fights you mention are pre PBC days.

Quillin is now abotu to face andy lee which is a fight in teh right direction. Garcia is fighting LP which is also a good fight. Too early to tell what will happen with LSC & Rigo at this point, that fight very well could happen still.

    it's common sense bro.

    HBO subscribers = 28 mil
    SHO subscribers = 23 mil

I can't even find the # for NBC subscribers but I bet it's upwards of 100-150 million. I'm not saying that any fight will have 100 million viewers but the potential to be seen is obviously much greater

we don't REALLY know what's happening here because we are only hearing from 1 source (ODLH) who doesn't play well with Haymon... Give it time dog. you can't knock him for missing 1 fight when he's already made 4-5 other great fights...

NBC has 96 million subscribers by the way...

I think Haymon wants to start building for those fights on his network deal, otherwise he's splitting the pot with others. Same reason HBO was rumored to wait until Floyd was a free agent (off of Showtime). Sucks for us but they keep all the money that way, or most of it. No reason to cherry pick for his fighters now, at least not for long.

why not. The past two years have been a build up to this moment. Any garbage that happened in the past 1-2 years were so he could set this up. A few years from now when boxing is kicking major ass nobody will remember anything from 2013-2014 besides floyd vs pac

i have nbc on my dish package but i don't even know what show they have.

anyway, i think a boxing market could be developed if they can make good/entertaining fights week in week out. problem i think with haymon is that he don't have the depth to do this.

he's better off selling "girls gone wild" dvd's.

Stop being an idiot and compare the good events he hosted with the fights he couldn't make. If you honestly expect Haymon to be ultra perfect and satisfy all then you must either be 10 years old or a simple minded fool. History should teach you when you grow up that no one and nothing will ever be perfect.

I think as time goes on more and more fighters will join the PBC and eventually we will be able to see damn near ANY fight we want.

you gotta look at it like this....

If HBO puts on 3-5 good fights in 1 calendar year theyve done a really good job. That's basically a sick fight every 2 months. With the roster of 150 guys haymon can do that.

Every year that goes by Haymon will add more guys. People will see that there isn't any point in going to TR, GB, k2 etc if they have **** stables. There won't be anyone for them to fight. Look at GBP website right now, they have a garbage stable. Same with TR.

eventually, with that large of roster that he has to please, one disgruntled fighter of his will sue him for mismanagement/conflict of interest. they could find evidence where haymon has his hands on both the promotion of the fight a management of a fighter.

squeeze them nuts on those rabbit toothed twins, they will sing....with daddy watson in the background clapping his hands.

No they don't. Golovkin has fought on HBO six times in his entire career. And I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying NONE of them were "great" fights.

Why do you keep lying to people?

Keith Thurman is making $1.5 million for the Guerrero fight on NBC.
Robert Guerrero is also making $1.5 million to fight Thurman on NBC.
Adrien Broner is making $1.5 million to fight Molina on NBC.
Molina is making $500,000 to fight Broner on NBC.

Is there someone else standing in line waiting to pay those four guys $5 million?

If so, I'd love to hear who?

Kovalev's purse was only $500,000 for the Hopkins fight, and there was an article out that he only took home $125,000. Golovkin hasn't made $1 million on HBO yet, and he's been showcased six times.

You don't think more people are going to "jump ship?" Hell, the floodgates are beginning to open.

If you can be seen my millions more people and make millions more, why not?

You've spent two days lying to people and making stuff up as you go.

    You've been exposed.

Yep, Haymon is putting his fighters on CBS or Spike or NBC so they can continue to duck the fighters they would have to face on HBO and Showtime. This is just another way to keep the best from fighting the best. Instead, he's giving us Stevenson vs Bika.
