He was only asking for a 50-50 money split, then Oscar and GBP filled up the media saying that he is afraid of Alvarez. Why he is not coming out with a statement, and tells the people that this corrupt cokehead and the juiced ginger offering him a 80-20 money split, while he is the champion, he won the first fight, got robbed, his highest possible payday got cancelled because Canela was juicing, illegal handwraps in the first fight, etc. etc. I would destroy Fishnet Oscar and Alvaroid in the media. Guy didnt even left a tweet about it.
Golovkin will turn it up if asked (like when he exploded on Canelo/GBP), but he's not one to initiate it.
Two reasons: 1. Everyone with a grain of sense realizes that Oscar's talk of Golovkin being afraid is rubbish. It's simply a dispute about money. 2. I still think the Canelo rematch will happen next, even at 50/50 Canelo makes twice the money compared to fighting Jacobs/BJS/Charlo/Spike, and even at 30+% (like last time) Golovkin makes something like 5 times more money fighting Canelo than anyone else.
I can tell you exactly what is going on here. ODLH and Canelo are deliberately making sure that GGG does not accept the "terms" that they offer, terms that are not fit for the rematch whatsoever. They do want a rematch, but further down the line, knowing full well that GGG will be a little bit more older, a little bit more slower and have less ability to fight 12 hard rounds. It is sneaky and mischievous, and it certainly is not what the fans want, but ODLH and Canelo are lying, cheating snakes anyway.
I agree with your sentiments but I think the fight happens in September, regardless of terms. Money talks.
I started a thread a couple of weeks ago about Oscar using the Floyd blueprint. Say outrageous **** and watch the ppv numbers shoot up. “I ain’t gonna fight Margarito cuz he got losses.”...then signs to fight Robert Guerrero claiming this is the fight the fans demanded. Oscar- “Tom Loeffler told me GGG is afraid and doesn’t want the rematch.” “Alvarez will beat him even more severely than the first time, Golovkin just needs to accept the terms.” It pisses reasonable people off but keeps fans interest piqued.
