This is worse than Pac Vs May imo because I can't see a favourite where as with the Pac Vs May fight, I think Floyds the clear favourite.

So why is it not happening ?

don't see how you can be serious with that part, GSP to complete of a fighter for that.

It's actually not that appealing anymore...... both have their issues to deal with.... GSP long injury lay off...... Silva same thing with injury and getting old.

It should have happened 18 months ago when the hype was huge.

The hype died down a bit. It seems people are more intrigued with a Silva-Bones fight now.

Silva would destroy GSP in embarrassing fashion.

Gsp never wanted the fight. He would always sidestep the question. Silva would beat him easy at 185 imo.

Its not worse than Pac vs May but it does show the differences between the two organisations. I've always said that the idea that if boxing was run like UFC we'd get Pac-May is bull****. The UFC looks to develop all its weight classes with high profile champions at the top of each division. Boxing forces all fighters into a handful of 'prestige' weight classes such as welterweight. So boxing built up anticipation for Pac vs May when in reality they could easily co-exist as champions of different weightclasses. Whereas the UFC kept GSP and Silva apart by stressing their status in the individual weight classes. That way you don't get the destablising gossip about when the superfight is going to be made. If boxing was like UFC then Pac would be the featherweight champion and Mayweather the lightweight champion.

As for why its not happening, GSP doesn't want to move to middleweight and the UFC isn't going to make a champion vs champion P4P match. Its incredible to think that we were very close to getting it twice. Once after UFC 112 at welterweight and once after UFC 129 at middleweight. Both times however the fight felldown - first because Silva is insane and then because GSP realised that a move up in weight isn't such a great idea for him. I think we're more likely to see Jones vs. Silva than Silva vs. GSP.

I actually rather see Jones v Silva....Thats seems more a possibility...
Silva fought against Griffin and Irvin at light heavy and looked sensational..
