Why the hell would team Adamek be interested in Lance Whitaker?

If its true it would be for the same reason as Grant. Delaying the inevitable. Putting Adamek in against another giant heavyweight that he should easily be able to take and pass it off as he's getting ready for the Klitschko's. I mean let's be realistic. Audley Harrison, Shannon Briggs, and Sam Peter are getting "title shots" this fall. If those are the 3 top contenders then who the hell is Adamek supposed to fight if he wants to fight this fall?

Absolutely. People are angry at him, they hold him at a different standard.

Adamek can go and fight Andrew Golota and Michael Grant, a word would not be uttered, but Haye would be ridiculed for fighting those men. I've taken a different approach, and judged them both fairly, and have gave analysis on a proposed future bout between the two based on styles and weighing each man's pros and weaknesses...as opposed to just rubbishing Haye's chances because I don't like him.

Awight... Fair enough.... BUT! I did the 30 dollar PPV last night cuz I felt Mike Grant had a shot to actually win.... As it turned out, Grant lost but was game....

I don't see Lance Whitaker having a shot at Tom Adamek, but, I am curious to see if the greedy ******* promoters try to sell this proposed match to PPV..... I'd like to see HBO be nice and just pick-up this bout---if it occurs......

due to main events business model and adameks contract, they both made more against grant then arreola.A Whitaker fight in jersey would be good for both

    Perhaps.?

I do not like or trust the Duva's as my managers..... NO! The Duva's care about The Duva's.... They are a rich family that uses fighters for bread and butter purposes...... Their interest in the fighter only lasts while the fighter is a good earner....... They care LESS about your "After" career..... See Vinny Paz for details........

Adamek probably needs more fights with tall guys. He is aiming at KlitschKOs and since they both have fights scheduled he wants to stay busy too. I suppose he is looking for a KlitschKO fight in early 2011.

    :think

A good solution might be Tony Thompson - who is himself a ranked contender looking for a second shot at a Klitschko.

He's tall, and he isn't powerful enough to be a threat to stop Adamek.

It would be a better test of applying his skills against a tall heavyweight than the likes of Grant or Whitaker, without the risk of getting kayoed.

Tony would surely jump at the chance, as a win over Adamek would put him right back in the hunt.

I never thought much of Tony Thompson, but he ****ed up Owen Beck pretty good back in April........ However, Beck never really was jack-****.....

Thompson is an old fart of about age 39 nowadays.?.?

Maybe you guys should consecrate his current opponent, the man who mopped the floor with Wladimir last time they fought

    Sigh.

I guess the Adamek camp is hell-bent on preparing for a Klitschko. But this guy (Whitaker) shouldn't be as tough as Grant. Looks like he took a long lay-off and hasn't been competitive since. Harrison/Grant are worthier opponents no doubt.

I'd rather see Adamek fighting a guy his own size and pressing the fight. As long as Haye hasn't signed to fight Harrison, that's the guy Adamek should be chasing.

I'd be more inclined to count Whitaker as a baby step down from Grant, not up.
He lost a tight one to McCall (draw if it wasn't a knockdown), but Ollie these days moves like a glacier. He makes Grant here look like Jesse Owens.

But I can see this fight making sense to them. Adamek has the local support to do another big house at the Prudential Center, so he's not having to worry about chasing just the big-money guys. He'll also want to try to take the lessons (hopefully) learned from the Grant fight and apply them against another supersized boxer.

Given that I don't think he's ready for the Klitschko's yet, and I don't think he should be trying to get Haye yet even either, I don't have a problem with an attempted 're-run' against Whitaker.

There's a huge difference between the two. First of all 'warm up bouts' for what? Adamek doesn't hold a belt and hasn't been saying for two years that the klits are shyte and he'd decapitate either one.

Adamek is taking decent fights (more or less) while basically conceding he's not now ready for a Klit fight. His goal apparently is to get there by gaining some relevant experience(obviously he may never be ready but at least he's doing something and trying to "cut his HW teeth").. At least he's not holding some trinket belt hostage while proclaiming he's the best.
