Why the hell would team Adamek be interested in Lance Whitaker?

If Adamek truly wants a step up and a big HW, he should definitely target Tony Thompson. I'd favor TT, but he would be the ticket

Yes. But Sammy Peter didn't actually mop the floor with Wlad Klit back in 2005..... Peter rabbit punched Klit like a sum ***** in there..... Two of the knockdowns were basically fouls......... Overall, Klit won the vast majority of rds by sticking and moving all fight long on the "Mummy" Peter....

This is what I always say. Adamek doesnt talk, he just fights. He never complains. I remember, after the Dawson fight, he just said that Dawson was faster, he didnt even mention being weight-drained then.

Haye on the other hand is a very good boxer, but what he does in the ring and what he says are two different things. The only one boxer who did excatly what he said in the ring was Muhammad Ali. Every other who tries it looks like a clown

What I like in the Adamek the most is his confidence. He is usually smaller than opponent, but when he finally looks in the opponents eyes in the weigh-in and before the fight he looks very confident. The only fighter who looks that way is Vitali. Man I would like so much to see Adamek and Vitali looking eacheone in their eyes... :smoke

I remeber Chris Arreola saying in the press conference before the fight, that Adamek's eyes are very strange - they look like an empty lake. Then he asked if Adamek has any nerves.

Well if Whitaker is Adamek's next opponent, then he obviously doesn't feel ready for the likes of Tony Thompson. TT would likely win, and then we'd have another TT-Wlad fight.

Hopefully there's still hope for Admaek-Haye but given Duva's comments it looks like Haye will fight Fraudley.

Adamek is going about this the wrong way...he should ignore the K-Bros and fight the likes of Povetkin, Chagaev, Haye, Pulev, or maybe rematch J. Banks...... If Haye won't fight, become his mandatory by beating the likes of Boystov or Ustinov.

On the other hand I can see the logic behind the big-men strategy...he's earned the title shot against Wlad and now he wants to give the best performance he can.

But he's a no-hoper. Wlad can only be beat by power or speed and Wlad is faster and more athletic then Adamek. Wlad-Adamek is not a good match-up...Haye-Adamek is.

I rather see Adamek facing Dimitrenko then Whitaker.

That has been mentioned in the past as well.
    ===================================

Adameks goal is to fight for a title, and he is already a mandatory for Wlad. He is at the point where he is pretty much ready to do that. Both Klitschkos are busy, so he will take another big boy in the mean time to get some more practice. Why take a higher risk, low reward fight, right before a title shot? That would honestly be just stupid.

This has nothing to do with Adamek cherry picking bums, as much as Addie would love for this to be fact. If Adamek had a title, and was picking these types of opponents back to back, he would catch more ****, and from me included. Instead he is looking for a second big guy to fight, CLEARLY in preparation for whats to come, which is a showdown with a big Klitschko, and he wants to be as ready as ever for this fight, and with damn good reason.

Should he just stay inactive in this time, while he waits for his title shot? He could always do that.. not like the Klitschkos have a whole pool of talent to pick from that will fill a stadium.

He is already Wlads mandatory, which will also put him in a much better position at the negotiating table, then if he fought as a voluntary defense for Wlad.

I hear you but I just don't see Whitaker as a "step up" from Grant based on what i saw in whitaker vs estrada and grant-adamek. Whitaker was in their with a c/c+ level small hw who could be hit and whitaker couldn't sustain anything. Based on Grant's performance last night, it would be a step down. But like u said i guess they just want rounds with huge guys in a real fight (not sparring)

It's quite simple really. It's to help him get used to fighting much taller guys. And since it's obvious he isn't ready for the K bros, why not?

It doesn't have to be a step up. Any rounds he can get in are for the better anyway.

Like i said, apart from wlad, who has a mandatory, all the heavies are fighting shocking opposition.

valuev and dimitrenko and ustinov would be size comparable to k2.

no top heavies fight each other. sad but true.

If Adamek fights again in November it will be 5 fights in 13 months

Haye has currently fought 3 fights in almost 2 years.

That along with what what Chef writes below are the glaring difference that you're ignoring which show your Haye bias.

    If i may say

For Vitali Solis and Valuev if contacts could be made. Then Austin, Thompson, Liakhovich, Dimitrenko, Pianeta would be good opponents.

I'd love to see either brother face Liakhovich. He would be a credible opponent and would make for an exciting fight.

Perhaps Robert Helenius who while only having 13 fights has faced and beat solid compitition in Gammer, Bidenko, Brewster, Oloukun, Tony and with his size would make for an interesting matchup.

Kubrat Pulev too with only 8 fights has beat Skelton, Oloukun, Batcherfield, Page, Orlov. In another year he would be a good opponent for Volodymyr.

It's honestly insane that Volodymyr in particular us being avoid by Povetkin, Haye, Valuev etc and people are turning down title shots. I don't imagine that any other HW champ has experienced this same consistancty of top contenders refusing title shots.

Whittaker is a joke, Thompson is a Southpaw. They need to line up Dimitrenko, Austin, Liakhovich if they insist on having another fight.

Adamek is merely trying to improve and stay active.

He obviously knows he needs improvement before taking on any of the titleholders...... I see nothing wrong with him being honest with himself about where he is, and what he needs to do: improve before advancing to a titleshot.

But fighting a second tall fighter like Whitaker, though, certianly won't help prepare Adamek for the thrashing Haye will put on him. Haye has speed, power, and movement. Whitaker does not.

As far as preparing him for a Klitschko fight, either one, height is the ONLY thing Whitaker has in common with the K brothers.

You know what, It is Adamek that will never want to get in the ring with Haye he knows what that will do to his career as a heavyweight, and he can kiss the Klit fights goodbye as well. How many stay busy, warm up fights does he need?? and look at the quality of opposition! If Haye took this route he gets blasted.

No fight out there will ever prepare him for the beating he will get from a Klit brother. So may as well seek to make a fight with one of them. Or if he wants to try and claim a strap challenge Haye!

:patsch When you stay as active as Adamek has been, you can have 'stay busy' fights. Besides, anyone who saw him last week knows he's not ready for either K bro. IF they are honest with tgheir boxer, then what's the problem? If they just wanted to cash out, they could have.

Do some homework before you post.
