The ol man couldn't keep up with Joe's pace. Calzaghe doesn't have much power but he has stamina to spare. I swear at the end of the fight he looks like he could go another 12 no problem.................

Also would have been nicer if Calzaghe hadn't thrown punches like a spastic toddler.

When all is said & done Wlad's jab will go down in history with the likes of Gene Tunney, Joe Louis & Larry Holmes.

I did not care who won I just wanted to see an exciting fight and Hopkins ruined it for everyone. On paper it had the potential to be an exciting fight if Hopkins was willing to engage who knows he could have won.

Agreed, I was simply looking forward to the fight, and it blew donkey balls.

As others have pointed out over the years and here - Holmes & Ali had similar styles. Norton (who was robbed at least once in his 3 fights w/Ali) complained that Ali held/clinched too much. And tough **** that I'm old enough too remember. Yet they are beloved by many fans as ATGs. Frankly many Holmes and Ali fights were boring as hell. Take of the blinders. Ali often went many dull rounds with what would be CWs today. Ali also fought carefully vs the dangerous Shavers (was Ali scared?) going the distance w/Earnie. Years earlier the Acorn was iced in 1R by CW Quarry. Ali used a game plan to give himself the best chance to beat Shavers - nothing more or less. I could come up with dozens of examples like this to make Ali, Holmes or whoever look "scared" or not a top fighter. It's easy.

    Why the diff?
Double standards applied by blooming hypocrites, and sore loser keyboard "warriors" who don't think the K bros fit their image of a HW champ. That's why.

To the Brits here who hate the K bros, many Merican fans did the same to LL... calling him chinless b/c he was stopped 2X and "gay" I suppose due to his Brit accent or looks. If that was lame - and it was - then so is the crap about Wlad/Vitali. Except with the K bros it's even worse. I think the LL/K bro class HW would beat or obliterate past HW champs - yes even from the 70s (in my view Foreman might be the toughest from the past in this era). Don't agree? I could care less :p

And why the above. The answer is obvious and is quite pathetic :-(
The K bros are also humanitarians invlolved in charity work (like Alexis A was). That's more than you can say about most US HWs, many who consume massive quantities of food & bling (also sluts and parasitic "homeys") the minute they make some serious money.

To the OP, good that you started this but you won't convince the K bro haters - most have deep seated issues that they won't even admit. And ESB is very friendly to K bro haters. Many anti K bro threads are absurd hate bait. The OPs should be banned and the obvious troll threads deleted. I've seen less offensive activity quickly banned in some sports boards. This is one reason I visit ESB off & on. It could be a better site - maybe the best in boxing by far. I also have other hobbies.

Btw, boxings decline - and other forms of fighting rise - has nothing to do w/the K bros. That's more pure bull**** from idiots. Boxing has been declining, especially in the US, long before the K bros came onto the scene. :deal with it.

There is a double standart towards KlitschKOs. It has been there since the very beginning. Some people are just too scared of KlitschKOs dominance. It is not idiocy but fear that speaks.

Even Alis most boring fights are thrillers, compared to Klitchko vs. Ibramigov.

    Wlad is very effective thought.

But that's the problem mate... he jabs his way to setting up a right hand for 9 straight rounds and bores the **** out of everyone. He may be a skilled boxer and the best current HW at the moment which isn't saying much but this is an entertainment business also. Without fans you don't get paid and Wlad seems void of that fact hence why HBO dropped his last fight after the exciting Haye pulled out... he does nothing for the fans other than the ones facinated by how big he is and how he keeps winning. Us boxing fans would like to see him throw atleast 10 right hands a round like every other HW champ over the years but he doesn't

Exciting Haye? He has not fought anyone worhty at +200. Chambers is exciting becuase he has been fighting Brock, Povetkin, Peter and Dimitrenko. That's an exciting figher not Haye who has fought Bonin and Barrett. Haye could be exciting but he has to start fighting normal competition.
