What would you call a person who posts on racist websites, degrades blacks and Jews, and is blindly pro white? Or a person who call other white people self loathing and race traitors because they dont worship their favorite fighters? Most would call that person racist. I just call him freedom.
If you have a large collection of old boxing magazine you'll see a pattern; the heavyweights have never been appreciated while they are active. Secondly, according to some boxing writers, i.e. Michael Katz, no Caucasian fighters are capable of being quality champions in any division. Ten years from now the heavyweight division will be worse, twenty years from now the heavyweight division will be worse than that and so on. Just like twenty years ago the commonly expressed opinion was that the heavyweight division talent was "paper thin" and so forth. I may try to get my hands on some microfiche editions of old boxing magazines and post quotes about the heavyweight division over the past decades. If you've been following the sport closely for a long time, and you don't have a selective memory, you'll already know that the heavyweight division has always sucked.
There is a lot of truth too this, however on the other hand, while it's possible that the Klitschko bros. may be appreciated more in time, it's very unlikely that their era as a whole will be. I think it will be judged correctly, as most eras have been. Joe Louis' era is regarded as somewhat weak, Marciano's era the same...Dempsey's era...no matter how much times passes, their eras will never be viewed as anything else. I think the same will go for this era...it will rightly be regarded as weak. Put it this way, do you see anyone in 20 years time recalling the great fights of this era or great moments of this era? I certainly don't. The Klitschko's stock may well rise, but their era will always be regarded as weak, especially since it follows the very good 90's era, which immediately preceeded it.
Did he not also batter prime Tommy Morrison as well as possess one of the greatest chins in the sport?
I know boxing don't work like that ,so why do you mention purity ,sanders, brewster? man you are really dumb, because when I said Bruno would not beat Wlad ,then you say " bruno was much better than Purity" , but when I say " and wlad is a lot better than rahman and McCall " you reply " boxing don't work like that and BTW , rahman and Mccall are no better than brewster ,sanders or purity. Rahman was raped twice by maskaev and Mccal was always a bum , just like Bruno.
it's obvious they are very appreciated, they make a lot of money and that means they have a lot of fans ,that means many people watch their fights .Wlad is always third or second best paid boxer in the world and that's not bad considering his boring style. When they're in US they always on HBO , they fight in MSG or staples. I'd rather be "unappreciated" like Wlad who's making millions ,dating supermodels and actresses, than "appreciated" and fighting for peanuts like froch, ward, ggg, bradley, martinez ,hopkins ,rigo, maidana and many others. Klits have a lot of haters ,but so does mayweather and pac .
1. Wlad is boring 2. There is 2 of them if it was just 1 guy I think more people would be willing to get behind them 3. They are the top 2 HW in there division but can't fight each other (Think about it and pick another division and imagine the 2 best guys never fighting each other) Personally I like watching Vitali he could have been a great champ if he didn't retire earlier.
Wlad is appreciated by boxing fans for being extremely hard to beat, but he is just not engaging to casual fans. His style is very boring, he takes no chances even when his opponent is out on his feet. His personality is boring also. Vitali is much better to watch, but I think in his case he suffers from how poor the division is today. Most casuals will remember him only for the Lewis fight and for getting smack talked now and again from David Haye.
Against Lewis Vitali had half his face hanging off due to the punishment Lewis was dishing out and he was in no fit state to continue. Against be Byrd he got frustrated that a little feather fisted middleweight was clowning him so he faked an injury and quit. How is that not truly losing?
