Casuals don't know about him never being knocked out/down. They don't know about how many rounds he's lost either. Seriously man, if you go outside of Germany no casual fan gives a **** about anything Vitali has done since Lewis. I know in the UK the most exposure the brothers had got in years was when Haye came on the scene and talked smack about them. Before that? Nobody gave a ****. Don't get me wrong, I don't like that fact. I think Vitali is H2H a heavyweight ATG. I like Wlad too. But for some reason they just don't seem to be fighters casual fans outside mainland Europe enjoy watching.
In US more people know klits , than any british fighter , these days Klits are prob known better than lennox. No british fighters are known in US by a casual fans, none of them. Does it mean none of the brits are appreciated?
Klitschko can turn everything around if he defends his title vs opponents who have 0-0-0 records, 6-0-1 records and a record with 38 losses. Then he would be more like the old time boxers who actually fought opponents like that for title bouts.
lmao, that is the victim mentality of white supremacists though. They constantly blame blacks and non-whites for issues that are actually caused by other white people. The entire premise of the Klitschko brothers being unappreciated or "held back" in recognition because of black people is ridiculous when America is a majority white country with sports networks own mostly by white people. No black person is holding a white person back from being famous in America. Klitschko brothers being unappreciated in a country full of white people would technically mean that white people have more to do with their lack of recognition than blacks or latinos. But because white supremacists think that they and their heroes are held back by blacks and latinos, I guess it's easier to blame somebody else.
This is so stupid. Mayweather is hated by the majority. He does grat numbers because he knows how to market himself as the bad guy. The Klits arent appreciate because they're boring and aloof....its as simple as that. Trying to say its racism is paramount to crying about spilt milk and reeks of desparation as to why many dont like your favorite fighters.
Another reason Klitschko is unappreciated is most fans don't understand boxing technique well enough to realize what Klitschko is actually doing or they have not watch very many of his fights and or have a selective memory concerning his esteemed predesessors. A boxer can actually move straight back from an opponent if his stance is offset from his opponent. Imagine railroad tracks extending from the opponent's toes; you can go straight back if you're not on the railroad tracks and outside of his hook. A great fighter can limit this offset distance to the minimum so he can make a subtle footwork move and put himself right back into his punching distance. Also, moving back in a diagnol line seems to be commonly confused with moving straight back from his opponents. Another unfounded criticism: he can't in-fight. Wrong. Haters apparently don't bother to watch some of his fights e.g. Derrick Jefferson, Monte Barrett, Alexander Povetkin were repeatedly worked over with a left hook and uppercut while Klitschko had their lead arms pinned next to his body. Povetkin was the only opponent to finish on his feet. BTW, I believe the commentary guys said Povetkin had never been knocked down in an amateur or professional fight ( I think that may be around the 300 fight mark combining professional and amateur fights although I think a couple of knockdowns against Povetkin weren't real knockdowns) He has no uppercut. Wrong again. Watch the rounds when he finishes Monte Barrett and Samuel Peter. He has a boring style; yes and no. His early fights when Sdunek and or Roach trained him he used more two handed skills and fought aggressively. When Steward switched him over to the Lennox Lewis style he became boring, like Lennox Lewis, and he also suffered two of his three defeats under Steward's coaching if I'm not mistaken. I'm surprised he kept Steward on as a trainer after those two losses.
They are too good, not North American or UK based, and live a clean life outside the ring. Those some of the reasons.
Too good Yeah right. They are wildly popular in Germany...Russia..and Eastern Europe. Why isn't that enough for you guys:think Great American heavies have set the bar too high for us to be impressed by those fragile robots...we've seen so much better,it's really hard to get behind such slow and timid creatures. Tyson fought tons of bums....but at least he dismised them in electrifying fashion..he wasn't afraid of them. Larry Holmes was North American and lived a clean life outside the ring and he is vastly una ppreciated.. How do you Klitards explain that?
:rofl Wlad throws an uppercut against Monty Barret and suddenly he's up there with Rigondeaux. What you just described there is thought to a boxer on the first day they enter a boxing gym. If Sam Peter had the gas tank to fight more than 4 rounds he would of knocked Wlad out. Wlad got lucky because Peter was to slow and lazy to catch up with him. Hop on the train Wlad , Sam Peter is coming.:nut
