I think it's most Wlad is who is unappreciated and it is because his style is boring and all he fights are tomato cans because the entire HW division is ****
Thats because you're an idiot with an agenda with no knowledge of boxing history. The only reason I converse with you is for shits and giggles....you amuse me. In all honestly I could never in good conscience take you seriously.
You have turned these threads into pity daytime drama and insult contests. Do us all a favour and F UCK off back to scene.
My apologies if you take Elroy seriously, I didn't meant to insult your delicate nature. Use the ignore feature if you find my posts bothersome. :good
My own kind? I could care less what anyone on these forums think of me. I told you, this is pure entertainment for me, it effects nothing in my day to day life. If Dino doesn't like me I'll surely lose no sleep over it.
All that tells me is that the people you're talking to aren't boxing fans. I would not expect the average man on the street to know Dempsey or Louis simply because they are long dead and fought many, many decades ago. Ali everyone knows, and if they don't then it's more down to the ignorance of the person than anything. Outside of boxing fans, nobody knows the Klitschko's. The average sports fan may know the name, but probably not much about them. The irony is that Wlad is better known for his association with Hayden Paniettiere than his exploits in the ring by the average person in the west, if he is known at all.
Talking of media, I was reading a translated Kiev newspaper online the other day, concerning some **** that Vitali is supposedly in. What struck me as weird was the caption of a photo with Vitali and Wlad in it - "Opposition lawmaker Vitali Klitschko (left) and his younger brother Wladimir Klitschko, a heavyweight boxing champion" First, if Wlad is so universally recognized, why would Kyiv Post even have to say who he is, surely his name should be enough? And also, A heavyweight boxing champion...it's like some vague reference to what he does for a living. http://www.kyivpost.com/content/ukr...ers-to-chornovol-beating-suspects-334343.html The Heavyweight Champion of the World is just not the title it used to be because boxing as a sport has slid down the popularity rankings. It used to be a top 5 and later a top 10 sport (most viewed) but now I'd imagine it's struggling to break into the top 20. That's not the Klitschko's fault, but it is the truth. Boxing fans know who he is of course, but I'm sure plenty of casual sports fans only have a vague notion of who he is. People not into sports won't know him at all. He hasn't transcended the sport. And the Paniettiere thing is true also, if you want to justify any kind of popularity or fame he has outside of boxing.
