Yeah, it really dropped from No Man's Land that no fighter could survive (nevermind that they came up in the 90's) to barren wasteland...and that barren wasteland has just happened to last for 14 years .

I suppose I could have talked about technical deficiencies, but it's far more interesting to discuss race. Really improves the health of the forum.

All of the above, but more so because the boring style. Since the HW division is such ****, they should be taking guys out no problem, not just jabbing and holding them to death

Back from a long drive and only read the 1st page - hardly have to read more :-(

    The OP asks
    Why the Klitschko's are underappreciated?

Then gives only 2 derisive options to drive the "debate" to the "conclusion" that the K bros are ruling in a weak era and, of course, are boring (which is code for I don't like them).
    1. Lack of quality heavyweights.
    2. Boring style of fighting.
    3. All of the above.

The OP is clearly anti K bro.
I'll answer the OP. They're mostly under appreciated in the US. Why? B/c more than a few US fans - like the OP - have their panties all punched up ever since the US lost its hold on the HW div. This occurred soon after the Soviet block in Eastern Europe opened up. Basically it shows US HWs can't beat WORLD COMP :yep

The options to answer the question should have been:
    A. Due to nationalism (mostly fm US fans)
    B. Due to racism (mostly fm US fans)
    C. All of the above.

    I vote for C :deal

The HW div. was much weaker in the 70s, w/mostly US HWs some no more than today's CWs.

Why did Ali hold and jab so much and not take out those 195- 220lb "big" HWs :think Hell Norton was chinny and Ali went life and death w/Ken 3X, losing twice, but they gifted Ali their 3rd bout :yep

Norton himself said Ali has a new style - holding.
I suppose Norton was anti American and anti black

No, Norton was just anti-Ali, and was inclined to ***** about the decision...rather than the fact that he pretty much gave away a fight that was hanging in the balance by choosing not to fight for the first two and a half minutes of the final round.

Anyway, the fact that Ali held doesn't detract from the fact that Wlad holds as well. Except, Ali would usually let go and punch. Wlad just keeps holding.

Vitali didn't hold nearly as much, it should be noted...which is why he's not shipping nearly as much criticism as Wlad on this thread.

Tyson fought in a shi.t HW division too,but at least he took those bums out in style.

The Klits fight TERRIFIED regardless the opponent.

I respect them, but I don't appreciate them as much because they don't fight in any real wars.

Emmanuel Steward to Wlad: "Cmon Wladimir, YOU WAIT, YOU WAIT, YOU WAIT!!!"

How can you say they're not appreciated? Wlad is always 3rd best paid boxer in the world, despite being pretty boring and Vitali gets paid just as much. Other boring boxers like Ward, hopkins makes peanuts and they are good boxers, but people don't appreciate them , that's why they make so little money. Even bradley makes nothing compared to Klits.

I know the Klitschkos have had as many as 65,000 fans live at ringside, not to mention TV rights all over the world, except sometimes USTV which is extremely biased. Vitali sold out at Madison Square Garden, New York, New York, USA during a huge snowstorm. Vitali Klitschko knocked Kirk Johnson out in the second round after Teddy Atlas said that Johnson would knock Vitali out with one punch. The Klitschkos are extremely underrated. Lewis fought much like Vlad, esp. against Tua............Vitali Vs. Arreola was HBO's highest rated fight of the year...............

Also, anyone who claims that Vitali faked an shoulder injury is an out and out liar. Vitali's surgery took over 2.5 hours. Vitali was easily winning the fight, Byrd was no threat at all, Hell, Vlad beat Byrd two times..........of course, I know the "REAL" reason the Klitschkos are hated in America..............

For the record: Wlad has higher KO percentage than Tyson.
