His resume doesn't support those rankings though. Parker and Zhang both beat him in actual fights If you are trying to argue Wilder was ever better than Parker that seems like a pretty weak argument.
Not wanting to divert the discussion here, but the subject was who the biggest names were. Parker Kabayel and Zhang are and never will be bigger names than wilder.
maybe you should start your own organisation, build it up be respected, then people may be interested in your personal ranking system….until then, we have the age old usual bodies. Sarcastic joke coming up: maybe call Dana and get involved with zuffa
Zhang and Parker beat him in actual fights. No organization can nullify actual fight results and nobody cares that people once believed he was better than the guys who actually beat him in real life. Usyk fighting him in 2026 doesn't look good regardless of how he was viewed in 2018
Boxing fans at present are a lot more excited about Kabayel than they are Wilder. Wilder was more hyped at one point but certainly not now. If fans go by pure name recognition than why not fight Canelo or Jake Paul? Or Mike Tyson?
yes, in 2024 when he wasn’t the main man (or one of the main men) you have moved the discussion in every post. it was originally who the biggest name was at peak. (2015-2020) then who was ranked higher in this period then after 2024? even all time, Zhang nor Parker will get in the hof. Trevor berbick beat Mohammed Ali at the end of his career, nobody ranks him higher. Dubois beat AJ, nobody says he’s better or a bigger name. this is a silly discussion, Parker is not a bigger name than wilder or AJ (the 2main guys then) pretty simple. No matter how much you try to convince yourself, Parker has to fight away, carry Tyson fury’s bags and sing n dance to get his publicity up.
I agree, wilder is done and has been done for about 4/5 years. Kabayel is not a big name except in Germany.
Tbf Parker got a little too complacent in round 2, paid the price for it. I don't like Parker fighting at a bigger weight because it affects his stamina too much.
Sure Wilder was a bigger name then Parker, Zhang etc back in the day. I just don't think he was ever better than them and that's born out by his actual record. Dubois may well go down as better than Joshua. Joshua wasn't old and when they fought and hasn't sought a rematch. So I don't see that as in any way comparable to Berbick Ali
Now we know Parker should probably be ranked higher historically. But we can't change the perception of the people at the time.
