And there were plenty of non-USSR guys receiving the "Master of Sports" award back then. Still doesn't mean that it wasn't an USSR-based award.

Where is it based, Switzerland? Oh, it's New York, USA.

And there are 2 HOFs, "World" and "International". So which one is it? :good

Yet it hasn't hindered the success of all the other nations that were previously successful prior to such changes.

And why are you even referencing that joke of an organisation?

    Isnt Harrison younger than Khyrtov???

Im not AT ALL pulling the nationalist card here, but he's had 20 fights, as opposed to 9 for Khyrtov.

In his 20 fights, he's fought some solid journeymen in Smith, Brunson, Galvin, and Odom, and a former contender in Brewer, and former titlist in McKart.

Not 11-27 cans as you make it out. Decent stay busy fights, doing what he needs to do.

I hate when ppl refer to very real fighters as bums, cans. These so-called cans are just a step slower, or an inch farther from being on the next level. They fall short of the top, but yet achieve big things on the smaller stage. McKart and Brewer were once highly touted, and Brunson beats every can he's fought, and few journeyman as well.

Not saying Harrison is a world beater, but at 24 yo, and a 3 yr pro, he's making the right strides.

Yeah, Kyrtov may well have the higher ceiling, but b/c he's 26 y/o, and has the far greater AM background, as DO MOST Eastern Euro fighters, he's GONNA be moved quicker, pitted vs tougher LOC, earlier, and even more often.

It was obvious that last night was a showcase card. Showing very promising young prospects vs various levels of competition according to where they are in their perspective careers.

I think Lubinson shined the brightest, but then again, since Mike Tyson first debuted the kid, I've been enjoying his fights. Wished that Tyson's promotional venture could have continued, cuz now it seems GAYMAN is gonna snatch up all the solid Cuban talent that Mike once had.
Khyrtov was in tough. Much tougher than some suggest. His opponent was called a bum, or a can by some, but judging by his overall career performance, he's been a solid win away from contention for the past several yrs. And being what I would consider a BONAFIDE power puncher, I think Kyrtov fought a PERFECT fight. Not trying to load up realizing there was a very real potential of something coming back.

Didnt Page drop him? Not something he wants to experience again on the C/B level, Im sure. Smart fight by Khyrtov, taking his time, picking his shots, and finishing a very capable gatekeeper over the course of 8 rds.

You wanna call someone a bum or a can......Well, the first fight, kid from Nashville, Caleb Plant, now he's been crushing some cans. That Henry fellow......I'd dry down to 168 and KHTFO.:patsch

No, no need to get to the insults.

What I wanted to say is that "HOF" is an American thing. Like a NBA HOF. It is mainly created to recognize the NBA based players.
There is no HOF is Europe therefore nobody is overly worried about it on the continent. And if it was based in Germany for example, you can bet that guys like Sven Ottke would be among the main guys to be inducted.

Also, "Hall of Fame" implies that it's designed to recognize "famous" boxers. It doesn't say the "best", the "greatest" or the "most accomplished".

And besides the questionable purpose, it's still not based on a "neutral ground" in Switzerland (like virtually every sports organization including the Olympic committee).

    GGG
    Quillin
    Martinez
    Lee
    Geale
    NJikam
    Lemiuex
    Jacobs
    Eubank
    Murray
    Rubio
    Monroe
    BJS
    Murata
    Korobov
    Adama
    Centeno
    Magomedov
    Chudinov
    Kyrtov
    Harrison
    Mora
    Charlo
    Johnson
    Khurtsidze
    Douglas
    Soro
    Szili
    Kopeylenko

    In NO particular order.

Then you got LMWs like Lubin, Andrade, Charlo, Martirosyan, Canelo, Trout, Cotto, Adams, Lara, Clottey, Basangarov,Williams, Maciel

The 154-164 types are very strong.

You could technically throw Bradley, Porter, and Thurman into that mix as well since theyre draining to fight at WW when their bodies are clearly suitable for LMW, MW. :hi:

    Not arguing that.

Just saying a Khyrtov fan has a valid argument, as does a Harrison fan.

    I personally........LIKE EM BOTH:thumbsup

I was reading an article about Russian doping. There are arguments to be made apparently for banning all Russian sports from international sport. From cycling to tennis. That's how deep their Gov sponsored and run doing programs are. They openly use xenon epo doing lol.

people tryna act like khyrtov looked good against a bum.... i had melendez very much in the fight...in the second round it looked like khyrtov was about to get ktfo.

to be honest, i thought melendez was just a real stupid fighter...he just fought like a loser tryna put up a good effort. he was faster than khyrtov....he was landing a lotta shots. he had the ability to win, he just didn't execute.

i think some of these club-fighter level guys are intimidated by the russians with their big amateur careers...but khyrtov sucks...he will lose to the first guy who actually fights him with some smarts and determination.
