Why the "sugar" in Sugar Shane Mosley ?

    Anyone conseder that Shane rhymes with cane?
    Sugar Shane = sugarcane?
    Also he's one of the best lightweights of all time. Along with being a champion at welterweight and light middleweight. He has earned the Sugar.

    Mosley also had the chance to meet Sugar Ray's wife when he was young. I'm not sure if Shane got to meet the real Sugar or not. Sugar Ray's wife told him if they call you a Sugar, then you better work hard.

    Keep in mind that Shane is a California native, and Sugar Ray moved to California after his boxing career was over.

    Shane is an incredible fighter, and in most of fights he looked sweet as sugar. What is not to understand?

    There's been other fighters named "Sugar" as well.

    It's not a very big deal, although Robinson did fight another guy using the "Sugar" nickname, kicked his ass, and said "go get a new nickname" or something to that extent.
