Yep, Joshua came to Boxing late, he tried a bunch of other sports before boxing.

Whyte was a kick boxer before he committed to full time boxing too.

There are 1.9 mill registered Rugby players in the UK with 1900 or so clubs. While according to Boxrec there are only 47 active UK heavyweights.

The US in compariosn has 329 active heavyweights according to Boxrec.

So 1 in 1.39 mill Brits are active heavyweight boxers

So 1 in 989K Americans are active heavyweight boxers

So even with a higher participation rate and a bigger talent pool the US is not performing as it should do. It's less to do with other sports taking talent and more about serious under funding and high PPV prices killing off the sport at the grass roots.

Its pretty ****ing wretched everywhere, the UK has glass jawed AJ and an obese Fury, aside from that, the quality level drops off PRECIPITOUSLY.

Whole lot of apologist BS trying to revive a dead AF argument. Fact is, the top Brits aren't fighting each other any more than the US fighters.

The fact AJ won't even take a $50mn pay day to fight Wilder and is scrambling for excuses to fight Povetkin is nothing to be ashamed of. It's largely down to the shady business motives of Matchroom. We are still a great country with great fighters. We don't have to resort to illogical arguments to denigrate the US boxing scene just because the Hearns are dodgy coonts.

Community funding for boxing has been slashed wholesale for years in the US. No one over there spends a dime on anything unless they see 2 back within a week. Grass roots funding for sports that aren't played in the school system has all but disappeared. Take my sport for example in the UK, which is cricket, they don't play in schools and they have absolutely no presence on free to air TV. The grass roots funding which was supposed to increase from subscription TV is vanishing into the pockets of the execs running the Governing body. It's a perfect storm which is seeing participation plummet and the the standard diminish at an alarming rate. It seems any poorly governed fringe sport it going the same way. The money men are trying to maximize short term profit ahead of doing things that keep the long term future of the sport alive. Legacy be damned.

No, he took a $100 million payday from Matchroom and most likely a large chunk of its $1 billion DANZ deal as well instead. Silly AJ for not fighting for Wilder and Haymon on their terms instead lol. Remember when Wilder fought Klitchsko, Breazeale, Whyte and Povetkin? Oh yeah, he didn't, he ran from them with his tail between his legs and AJ fought them (will fight them) instead. Turned down a fight against the unified world champion, a fantastic and profitable local fight, his biggest payday ever and his second biggest payday ever. Yet still, he turns down contracts for a retirement/cashout payday with AJ. Enough crocodile tears, bring on Povektin, Miller and Fury.

Hearn-mo has you scrambling to defend your entire nation. I'm here to tell you there's no reason to be anything but proud of yourself and Great Britain. AJ's ducking is only one sour drop in an ocean of greatness. It doesn't define us.

AJ will never make $100mn from Matchroom. AJ needs to sell 1mn UK PPVs just to GENERATE ~£25mn so I'd love for you to tell me where the other ~£50mn is coming from lol. AJ made nowhere near $50mn for selling 1.5mn PPV against Wlad. The whole event barely generated $50mn lol.

If you genuinely believe DAZN makes any difference at all you're a complete mug. DAZN has zero subscribers and has only given Hearn a maximum of $125mn per year for 32 shows based on him hitting all his targets.

Hearn-mo is many levels down from the big American promoters. When will you realise that?

Vykus is talking about the 3 year $100 mill contract extension that Matchroom offered Joshua. So Joshua will clearly make that much from Matchroom in the next 3 years.

wow look at the americans trying to defend themselves. typical to cry about people from the UK discrediting them, they just cant handle truth.

UK > USA in the heavyweight scene. Usa only have 1 fighter that 'can' make money, and thats only because he is fighting a brit who brings in the money.

    dumb

As the Bomber said above :lol::lol:. I'm not from the UK :lol::lol:. Jarrel Miller is my favourite heavyweight :lol::lol:.
AJ makes more from his headphone endorsements a fight than Wilder does in the actual fight. I want to see Wilder vs Miller. Great fight between the 2 top American fighters. Then I get to see Miller turn Wilder into spaghettios, make him quit, take his belt, and unify with AJ. Wilder could be Miller's sparring partner for the AJ fight if he needs a paycheck, after another insanely poor decision to turn down a $13 million contract along with all his other insanely poor career/management decisions :lol::lol:.
