When you look at fights in the past like Hearns vs Duran, or Lomachenko vs Lopez, Hearns and Duran are similar skill wise and Duran is better imo, Lomachenko is also much better than Lopez, but these fights went the way they did because the losers were outmatched in every physical department, speed, reach, height, weight, power, and it’s near impossible to overcome a fighter with all the physical attributes in their favour, the only time it happens really is if the overmatched fighter has power of their own, and even then they’re still less likely to land first, it happened with McCall vs Lewis and Rahman, it can also happen if they gas and then the overmatched fighter is no longer overmatched, but if Parker uses his attributes correctly then he Usyk wont be able to force Parker to work, and it’ll be Usyk that has to work harder whilst Parker keeps him honest with his attributes, Parker from a few years ago wouldn’t have won because he didn’t have the conviction he has now, he’d have moved around and fell into the trap of being forced to work, whereas now he has a lot more conviction and will keep Usyk honest and time him with uppercuts if tries to pressure him, Parker is faster, stronger, more powerful, longer reach and height and bigger, Usyk won’t be able to use any of his attributes, if he tries to box him, he’ll get beaten to the punch, if he tries to pressure him, he’ll get walked onto something and be forced to stay on the end of his punches, if he tries to fight him on the inside, he’ll get ragdolled, this might sound ridiculous, but that’s only because of how good we know Usyk is, if you analyse this matchup, you can see that he’s all wrong for Usyk.
I underestimated Parker, who is a great fighter, I think Usyk would take the win, but not easily, but he certainly wouldn't knock Parker down...
parker is a good fighter but people are overestimating him bc of his fights with wilder and zhang. he fought a broken wilder that wanted peace and love for some reason and wilder lost his ultimate desire. Zhang just tires out easily and parker barely beat that zhang but nonetheless very good win. He would get outboxed by uysk and (potentially) knocked out.
I was very confident that Parker would beat Wilder and I also picked him as slight favorite against Zhang. However Usyk is a different level, I can't see Parker beating Usyk.
I don’t think anyone beats Usyk. But I do however like Joseph’s chances against joshua. I actually think Parker stops him late this time after weathering an early storm or two.
Longest sentence I've seen in my life - ain't nobody reading that mess. Parker is losing wide to Usyk 10/10 times. Levels.
I'd be interested in this fight tbf. Usyk has Fury who is his fellow great, AJ a fellow great. But also has 3 mandatory challengers who are all in their absolute prime (Dubois, Parker, Kabayel). Add Zhang into the mix and he's cleaned out the division. Those fights fights are all realistic to make since they're mandatory fights. Within the next 12 months he literally could have completed the HW division.
With all due respect to Joseph Parker nobody who lost to Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce is beating Usyk.
This is always what happens if someone that was down and out puts together a recent string of solid work.
Parker beat Wilder and Zhang because both have terrible work rates. Parker isn’t gonna beat Usyk, who keeps throwing nonstop.
if he could wait 18-24 months and kept his current form i think he would have a slight to medium chance tbh.
