I couldn't agree more. This is an opportunity. Even though Ward already outclassed Froch, he'd get huge props from the boxing world (Froch fans included) if he ventured to Nottingham and beat Froch there.

It's exactly the type of situation he needs at this point, and considering the history and the favorable style match-up, you'd think he'd be salivating at the prospects, which would no doubt include a whopping payday to boot.

I like Ward, and consider myself a fan, but he's blowing it. His sense of self-entitlement is ruining everything he did to get to where he was 3 years ago.

This on so many levels! Plus I'm worried that Froch may be the last champ he will fight at 168. Degale is a live dog against Dirrel but if Andre wins that's 2 champs Ward won't fight and AA won't fight Ward. We will have 4 belt holders at 168 that won't fight eachother it is going to be pitiful here's hoping Degale wins.

Edit: Unless Sturm-Chidinov produces someone willing to fight another champ. I can see Sturm holding the belt hostage til retirement.

Totally disagree with how you feel about Ward. If Froch didn't want to go to Oakland, why should Ward go to Nottingham? Dawson wanted to fight the best, and volunteered to come to 168. If GG doesn't have to leave his division, why should Ward?

What gets lost in all of this is Floyd received so much criticism for talking about Cotto isn't a draw, and Froch is not getting the same flack. The difference is Floyd offered Cotto a fight back then and Cotto' uncle and Arum said not yet. Understandable. They hadn't fought yet.

Froch LOST to Ward, and doesn't seem like he's willing to do anything to get Ward back in the ring again. Sometimes Rummy you have to sacrifice the little things to get another chance.

I do like the idea of Rummy's Corner.

i'm glad i'm not a fan, it looks very frustrating. do you take him at his word, that he would fight elsewhere in england? i suspect he fancies an easier comeback than froch, which is reasonable - he must know the fight doesn't fill wembley. it does look suspicious if froch has been stripped before purse bids.

It's Nottingham and he can still make that at another venue in the UK.

In evaluating Mr. Ward's assault and battery of his own career, you've successfully nailed down every step of the crime.

The real head-shaker is that Mr. Bute was WILLING to go to Oakland as the money fighter. We call those unicorns, and it's going to be a hell of a long time before there's another one of those.

neither side seems to want the fight, so i guess it is irrelevant. no idea why they both seem to turn their noses up at that kind of payday.

I agree Ward is a better fighter than Kessler. But if you truly believe that Wards full body weight headbutts were accidential, consider this:

Kessler was headbutted repeatedly during every round. If this was "accidential", how come neither Ward nor Kessler have been prone to dish out or suffer from headbutts in any other fight they've been in? There's no way a crafty boxer like Ward headbutts over and over again by mistake. The headbutts were on purpose to get the edge.

After the Kessler fight Ward gave up the headbutting, maybe because he correctly assumed he could win without them, or maybe because he realised his career would be affected if he repeatedly did things that isn't even allowed within MMA.
