idk, doesn't think he's ready without a tuneup? doesn't like flying? has an aversion to british food? he and froch are secretly dating? i have no idea, anything i say would be pure speculation.

It's best we do, my friend.

    That unicorn ain't comin' back.

One-sided fight, big money, WILLING TO GO TO OAKLAND. It likely could've been a springboard to PPV.

So, yes, neither Mr. Ward or his fans ought to think about it. Missing a once in a lifetime opportunity like that is the kind of thing that can haunt a fellow and lead to an untold number of bad follow-up decisions in an attempt to recapture it.

Not that that's what happened, or anything. Now, onward and upwards to BET!

Before I have any opinion about this, I want to see who Ward will fight the 20th of May. I'm sure he would have beaten Froch, and so are everyone else, even die hard Froch fans. Ward may have found a more relevant oppontent.

If he hasn't, well it wouldn't be the first time he missed out on a big fight. The way he ditched a clash with Lucian Bute comes to mind.

So you missed the interview where Ward said he would come to the U.K and fight Froch?

Yes. Andre Ward said himself before The Super Six Tournament was over that the winner should face Lucian Bute and unify the titles, and that it was the biggest fight that could be made at that point. Which of course was true, since Bute was the only top contender left for the S6 winner to wipe out. No bigger event could have been pulled of at SMW.

All Bute had to do was beat Froch, and he got annihilated inside 5 rounds by a man Ward beat by UD in a fight many think wasn't close.

Ward rested a couple of months because his hands were so swollen after beating Froch. I also think he had a shoulder injury if memory serves.

All Bute had to do was beat Froch and Ward-Bute was on. Bute thought that Froch was done and volunteered to go to Nottingham and got his ass kicked.

The unicorn is dead and isn't coming back, my friend.

Best to let it go now for your own well-being. Don't be driven to madness and the resulting poor, regret-driven decisions that plagued Mr. Ward's career since passing on that fight.

I don't disagree with any of this.

But Ward most likely could have (and I think SHOULD HAVE) secured a deal with Bute to fight fall 2012, and Bute may have then taken a safer fight in May in preparation while Ward healed.

Reality has to creep in one way or another. I'm not insinuating Froch beat Bute. Froch tko'd Bute.

You...you're insinuating Ward didn't want anything to do with Bute. Big difference lol.

Fans think that Bute had been playing it safe for a while. People first started to think that Bute was overrated because of the ending to the first Andrade fight. That was a hiccup he cured. But, the talk then was that Bute's people thought that Froch was done and they totally underestimated him.

    Rums, Bute got bad advice.

They wanted to repair his image with some soft touches, and truly underestimated Froch. I'm not saying that the fight couldn't have been made, but if Bute even gave a good showing in defeat, they could've still got the fight with Ward, and probably in Canada too. IJS...
