Why was Ali never considered a "mob fighter" despite his association with Black Muslims?

Malcolm X describes Elijah Muhammad impregnating his teenage secretaries at 2:27 in the video, and from that point onwards.

Going against Ali is incredibly difficult nowadays, since he's achieved cult status as a boxer. However, there are numerous videos on YouTube exposing his bigotry.

Honestly I wouldn't even hold someone's bigotry against them. That's their own personal beliefs shaped by their own life experiences.

But going by the standard we have set today, bigotry is the worst thing you can be/do. It's even worse than sexual or violent crimes but today's standards . So I am simply holding him to today's standards, as we do to everyone else from past eras .

There is nothing hypocritical about Ali himself or his bigotry, but all the people who put him on a pedestal while at the same time diminishing others for their personal short comings, THEY most certainly are hypocrits of the highest order

A pedophile is someone who is attracted to prepubescent boys or girls. Totally effed up. Teenagers can be eighteen or nineteen which is well past the age of puberty. Effed up but not a level of pedophilia.

Maybe most folks are aware that like Malcolm Ali held racist views but rejected them when he embraced traditional Islam. I used to stay in touch with the Miami Herald sportswriter Edwin Pope. He used to travel with a young Clay/Ali. He recounts how he would have to go into restaurants to bring out the food to him because he couldn't go inside. Do you think that left a mark? Miami Beach was a sundown town and Blacks had to be off the streets after sunset. Clay/Ali trained at the 5th Street Gym at that time. Do you think that left a mark ?Ali was about the same age as Emmitt Till and saw his bloated body after he was lynched on the cover of Life Magazine? Do you think that left a mark? If he didn't hold white folks in high regard maybe he had a reason.

Random Catholic dudes don’t get a personal audience with the Pope, which Floyd did.

I suspect he was meeting with his ‘holiness’ to plan crimes about as much as Ali had anything to do with any random NOI person who broke the law.

Side note: Remember how Tyson said he had just lost his friend after the Savarese fight? He was talking about “Hommo,” the guy who shot up 50 Cent (likely with payment from Kenneth McGriff or someone from that gang) and then got murdered (probably by someone in 50 Cent’s crew) which 50 rapped about in “Many Men.”

Floyd got to meet the Pope? That's cool. I think he also got to meet JFK who didn't want him to fight Liston because Liston as champ was a bad look. Floyd was a good guy but since this thread is about Ali Blacks weren't allowed to try on clothes in some southern department stores if they were allowed in in the first place. Just one of the petty indignities Ali and other Black Americans of the time were subject to.

Tyson was always somehow linked to these rap/street beefs. It was alleged that Hommo was killed by a drug dealer named Damion ‘World’ Hardy, who was dating Lil Kim. Tyson allegedly put up $50k to have World killed in revenge.

Tyson was also friends with ‘Zip’ Martin, who according to the Murder Rap documentary, supplied the murder weapon to Orlando Anderson & Keefe D in Vegas when they killed Pac.

So you make excuses for Alis racism because he wasn't served at a restaurant in Miami. Cool, fair enough, that's perfectly understandable.

By that same logic do you excuse anyone's racism who may have been a victim of a violent crime perpetrated by blacks and then went on to harbor racism towards blacks?

Me personally, I'd take being refused service at a restaurant over being victim of a violent crime any day

Good thing Ali wasn't a violent criminal then. Are we discussing Ali's legacy, the racism he repudiated, or Black criminality? I want to understand what we are discussing. Thank you in advance.

Post deleted: The Hardy brothers apparently hated 50 Cent and World's brother tried to shoot him from outside of a hotel once.

I'm not excusing Muhammad's racism any more than I'm excusing Malcolm's racism. I'm just putting it into context. And part of the reason both gentlemen are held in such high esteem, at least by most folks, is because they overcame it and embraced the oneness of man.

Was Biggie involved in the hit on Pac? Such a waste. Pac, Biggie, and Jay-Z should be in the pantheon of rap.
