The Bean is fun. I'd rather watch some of his fights than "great" fighters that ponce around doing nothing. Take Wlad for instance. Indisputibly a great fighter, but when it's the 6th clinch and the first round isn't over yet, I feel tears welling up in my eyes. I love his special diet!
freking obsession with a guy who overate and took advantage of his obesity to market himself to idiots. move one dudes.
Bean didnt go over 4 rounders due to the money he was making.his body type wasnt built for long term, but in the 90's he actually wasn't half bad and in other eras would flat out knock out alot of top guys. in the 90's however the guys were huge and skilled. He was better off sticking with low level guys for more money.I remember watching a certain fight and foreman had remarked how skilled Bean was for such a big man. Guys like Holmes would always defeat him due to tall moving style. But get a few stand still guys ,and those chinny guys would get knocked out if they got caught. Bean was also very fast and actually would not have lost until he met Holmes bc of a B.s stoppage against that 6'4 240 pounder i cant think of his name? Hes certainly better than Tony Galento was and MUCH bigger. People just want to hype up older generation guys and mock newer ones ,that is the boxing way. lol Buter Bean wasnt under or over rated he was just the Bean king of 4 rounders.
because he lost fights then the next time he was on, the loss was gone. everything about him was a bad joke.
