Back to thread topic, Clottey was never ranked above #6 at WW.

He was regarded very highly, though. Many people, such as Emanuel Steward, gave him a great deal of praise.

He was regarded highly during that era due to lack of opponents in my opinion

Absolutely! I agree.:good He was still never above #6 as rated by Ring or ESPN. Aside from the sanctioning bodies, nobody has ever had him above #6.

The **** are you talking about? Ortiz was a NOBODY in 2008. Then he got ***** slapped by Maidana in 2009. You're delusional if you think Ortiz was ever a bigger threat. Ortiz is as overrated as they come.

I can't believe people are still hype this glass heart fool. Clottey would kick the **** out of Ortiz if they get in the ring.

No it was not the Margarito show to set up the Cotto fight, Margarito fought Williams next... Then Johnson then Cintron....

In no way could you score Margarito Clottey a draw

Would Clottey ever had a chance to outbox Floyd? No. Would Ortiz? No.

What about a puncher's chance? Ortiz- yes. Clottey- no.

So the **** what... I aint talking about who Clottey can stop and who he cant stop...

I am talkin about this "Punchers chance" you give Ortiz, the mother ****er walked into the fight a known quitter, weather he has power or not, against Floyd you have to be able to land for that power to mean ****.

and with a soft heart like Ortiz it was a matter of time before he quit, like I said in a different thread, during the May Ortiz fight I was furious at Floyd for that cheap ****, thought Ortiz had a case to headbutt him due to the elbows.

after seeing Ortiz blatantly foul Lopez several times in their fight its obvious when Victor Ortiz is in a fight, his heart caves he looks for a way out and sometimes guys like that foul their way out......

in other words Victor Ortiz had power sure but lacked the skill to make it a factor, he is a tuff fighter sure, but if you hang in there long enough you will make him look for a way out.

Floyd knew this thats why he took the fight....
