Fight of the year used to mean event of the year.

Were you born fvcking stupid, or has it been a lifetimes work to achieve it?

The poster wrote NEVER had a fighter demolished a world champion in such spectacular fashion before Foreman demolished Frazier inside 2 rounds.

I cited Liston destroying Patterson inside 2 and a half minutes, you moronic piece of ****.

Is that in the sentence you cited? No. The sentence you refer to is 'never before a reigning HW champion had been beaten and humilliated so brutally and conclusively and tried so hard to stay in the game...'

Much more than just being demolished. C'mon, try and keep up Fuxy ;)

I think Liston-Patterson 1 was fight of the year too.

People don't mind seeing one-sided heavyweight fights. They love seeing displays of incredible power.
I think Frazier made it all the more enjoyable by getting up, and he showed a lot of variety in the ways he went down.
There was the crushing uppercut sinking him to his knees.
There was a stumbling backwards knockdown.
There was the attempted running away and getting clobbered in back of the head knockdown.
There was the final hopping a foot off the canvas with both feet knockdown.
    It was brilliant. :good

The jumping in the air thing was odd. Must have been trying to catch his footing by instinct.

It changed the Heavyweight landscape. Its one sided nature turned accepted wisdom on its ear.

The sentence is irrelevant. It is the " claim " that is as moronic as you are.

Now, go lie down like a good dog.

Depends what you're after. A fight of the year,in my book,is one that is good to watch and competitive

I agree but there are much better, more competetive fights that Ali-Norton. Norton-Young shouldnt have been a FOTY just by virtue of the **** decision and Norton getting handed a gift championship off of it. It wasnt that great of a fight either. Interesting but not great. I know Im in the minority but Ive always felt Norton Holmes is one of the most overrated fights of all time. Holmes had that fight fairly easily under control for most of the fight barring a few action packed rounds. Its not the all action brawl people paint it as and wasnt nearly as close either.
