I don't get it, besides the ball punching, Golota was an aggressive machine vs Bowe. I understand that this was a poor version of Bowe, but he was still a tall fighter with skills and power.... Vs Lewis, he came out scared and tentative. How much was the lidocaine shot to blame? Lewis and Bowe both had big power.... Same deal with Tyson. Although this version of Tyson was past prime, he did look prepared for this fight. But Golota was throwing wimpy punches at Tyson that looked like (25%?) power! I get it that Golota was a little nutters, but is that the main reason for his discrepancies?
Maybe he saw something in Bowe in the lead up to the fight? Something he could take advantage of? It's hard to say and a good question, wondered it my self.
Because he was undefeated........and got the living shid beat out of him by Bowe or why do you think he kept going low to get out of the fight........Newsflash: Golata lost TWICE against Bowe by deliberately fouling out.....no low blows, Golata gets stopped or quits. The end.
I remember watching the first fight, but don’t recall Golota getting a beating. No where near enough to foul out anyway. It looked the other way round to me. I remember Bowe taking some big shots. I haven’t watched the fight for years though. The riot after was really bad.
Golata was winning both fights iirc but he did take punishment in return I don't get why he went below the belt though ... He seems to suffer from some kind of mental issues ... Was going to win both fights against a huge name in Bowe
Bowe just wasn’t very good at that point. The lidocaine shot is a bull**** excuse. Lidocaine is used all of the time, and Golota was the only one with rumors that it made him fold. Golota looked pretty standard in the first round against Tyson. In the second he was scared because he had a concussion, bone fracture in his face, and hernia in his neck. He also looked pretty normal against Grant.
golota took severe punishment in the second fight with Bowe... Bowe got the worst of it , but it was a brutal fight, one of the most brutal HW fights since the early days, and it ruined both fighters. but even in that fight Golota displayed fragile psyche that could have been exploited by Lewis or Tyson anytime they fought.
