Valuev - Holyfield triology, can it top the thrill of the Holyfield - Ruiz trilogy? I can't wait.

There was no "clear winning". Both did nothing and barely threw a punch, maybe 10 punches per round, it was ****. If you support Holy you see enough reason do give him a close decision but a draw isn't unreasonable, the "fight" deserved no winner. They should give the title back. Klitschko - Ibragimov was FOTY compared to this abomination of a title fight.

If you had seen the fight you would realise that would be much more difficult than you probably think.

looking back on Evanders history he never complains when robbed, usally that is cus he hasnt got robbed, but he has never complained in a loss, even when he feels he won such as the second lewis fight.

Holyfield has always acted this way, he did raise his hands at the end of the fight and the crowd cheered for him. Evander was robbed today, and its sad to see that happen to him at this age what are the chances he will be able to do this again? I mean he is going to continue fighting either way probably, but lets be honest now I would rather him get what he has earned and fight on then get taken advantage of along the way.

Holyfield has simply given too much to this sport and its a shame that this sport is taking from him.

No Valouv vs a Klitchko,,,,don't got to punch down so much....
Saurland said if Potomkin was agreable, tehy might make a Kiltchko fight after Cahgov...who can not fight a warm up as same as Vittili....

No, Holyflied won 4 or 5 of the first 6 and Valuov won 4 or 5 of the last 6, so a draw was possible, (as one judge saw...once judge was blind as normal....and one judge had a one point up for Valuov.... and a one point win for Valuov is as I saw it....a bit of running is one thing, trying to do a marathon....plus Champion bonus was the difference.
Holy ran just a bit too much for a bit too long. IMO.
I swear Holy looked 35 in face and body.
He did much better than I expected.

Fose colored glasses is rose colored glasses and I was hoping for Holy.....
And no he did not get bribed, or he'd fallen down one round.

Holyfield should make life easier on himself and his family by selling his 40,000 sqft house. Then fighting on past his prime won't be necessary!

Having said that, he won the fight today.

    WHAT?!

Evander not only consistantly maintains that he should have been given the win in the second Lewis fight, but has also said several times that he didn't lose the first fight either. He blamed the Moorer loss on a heart attack/shoulder injury/leg cramps, the Bowe III loss on hepatitis (probably right there though) and overtraining, the Bowe I loss because he himself made all the mistakes rather than Bowe winning it, the Donald and Toney losses due to a shoulder injury again, and the Ruiz loss and draw because of the judges getting it wrong.

About the only one he's never had a problem with is the Ibragimov loss, and really at that point he'd probably run out of things to say.

Just like 99% of boxers out there, Holyfield has always had a reason/excuse handy for when he loses. Seriously, this is not difficult or obscure information to find out, he's groused about them a lot...particularly the Lewis fights. I really don't know where you got the idea Holyfield has been absolutely fine with his losses, because he usually complains about them whenever asked about them.

I don't think it's Holyfield's nature to throw a tantrum in the ring. He deserved the victory and he had a resigned smile across his face knowing that he probably just lost his best chance to get that elusive fifth time title.

it's a hell of a thing to go 12 rounds at anytime in your career, but to do it at 46 years of age and carrying all that muscle, i don't think some people realise how shattered that can leave you.

holyfield could barely muster an attack in that final round because he was spent.

I don't even know what to say. You can argue that Valuev won 4 rounds but no more than that. To see Evander Holyfield, one of my childhood heroes, in this position is just too much for me. I have so much to say but I can't even get the words out. I try not to get emotionally invested in sports but sometimes it's unavoidable. Yes, it was an ugly, boring fight but Evander deserved to have his hand raised in victory.

In my years of watching boxing, if I had to pick a fight that I thought was fixed, I would say this is the fight. Something was not right from the get-go. Why didn't Valuev even try to punch Holyfield in the first half the of fight? Neither presented any danger to each other, and it looked like they purposely wanted to spar for 12 rounds, and not to mention the final decision? Something was fixed: be it Valuev, Holyfield, the judges or the whole event. It was a circus act without the entertainment.

    Some interesting things to consider:
The inactivity by Valuev in comparison to his other fights
After the performance, Valuev's reaction of raising his hands and bowing to Holyfield - what was that?
Holyfield's post fight reaction - very very suspicious. He tends to be more competitive than to simply accept such a horrible decision.

The most entertaining part of the fight if any was the commentary reminding us how dreadful the fight was. Im glad this promotion was not put together by Showtime or HBO so there were no favored in-house fighters in the fight, we heard it as is.
