Why was Hopkins beating Trinidad considered such a big win for Hopkins?

He was working on a rematch with RJJ after the tito win. Mosley was never really on Hopkin's radar. And there was a 4-5 year gap between DLH and the Tito fights w/ Hops. Not to mention, Shane lost to WInky before and after DLH lost to Hops. SSM was never a serious potential opponent to Hops. Everyone (well, maybe not you guys) know SHane was not any good at 160.

But your girlfrind bailey said it, so you must run with it.

:-( dont act like a noob and you dont know what that was such a big deal for hopkins bro.hopkins was 37 and considered old back then, tito was 40-0 with like 35 kos or more.he was favorite to win that mw tourny and after he beat thr brakes off of jobby everyone had him picked.the same ww that moved up mw you speak of, the same ww that tasted the canvas before.infact people had him picked over a young jermain taylor who had always been a big mw.so all im sayin is tito was the man and a 37 yr man was not sopost to beat tito the way he did.

as far as winky, winky as good as he is cant bust a grape.could hit tito with any punch he wanted to but could never drop him, stop, or even get the ref or his corner to stop the fight.and all them damn bunches from 1st rd to the 12th rd.so when i see **** like that i think at some point damn you cant kock him out or even get the ref to stop it ? and that happend right after tito and mayorga which before that fight hopkins showed the blue print on how to beat tito.so hopkins shut out tko over tito was better then winky wide ud over tito.

none of that **** you sayed was even thought of at the time of that.hopkins was a 6 - 1 underdog.so you tell me why hopkins beating tito was considered such a deal ?

Don't get me wrong popkins I am not comparing Tito to Lacy. Tito was elite and Lacy was a B level hype machine. I was simply saying that both fighter were overated coming into those 2 respective fight, lacy clearly a **** load more than Tito.

I would regard Hopkins victory over Tito as a great win at that time while Lacy was only a good victory. Calzaghe had beaten better fighters before Lacy while Tito was the best fighter Hopkins had faced at that point(excluding Jones Jr).

That's a **** load more then you do. All you do is ask irrelevent questions (that most SHOULD know if they pay attention) and kiss the ass of that **** Bailey. And also ignore pertinent questions asked to you.

Of course you think he dismanlted me. You're his kiss ass. And I have never debated him, so how can he win anything? By quoteing himself and going to boxrec all the time? Silly little nancy. Like I said, you're nothing but a wind up. SOmeone to take the **** with.

WHy don't you try and put a thought out argument that it WAS NOT a good win for Hopkins. You haven't done that yet.

Bailey thinks prime Kessler unloads combinations on peak Roy Jones, sends Jones into retreat mode, and picks up a comfortable points decision win.

Bailey's credibility as a boxing fan and poster = :****

    the opening post did that.
we've already seen that joppys best wins are a joke.
trinidad went on after hopkins and the glove scandal to achieve **** all at middleweight or above in the rest of his career.
what more is there to say laaarrrrrrrrrnnnnnncccccccce?

And he hype american fighters for his heroes, yet shoots often the same ones down on the US fighter's resume. Busted him several times only to have him try to 'debate' his way out of it. :patsch

You didn't create the opening post, unless you actualy ARE blocky/bailey, which would make sense since only someone as naive as he would agree with him.

So what is it headbanger, are you unable to post on the topic due to lack of knowldge of the situation? Didn't know who Tito was at the time? Or are you happy allowing Bailey to post for you while you just make some ass kissing smiley filled post to do nothing but stroke his fragile, insecure Brit ego?

Hopkins was a nobody before the tito fight, that fight put hopkins in the map and in the mainstream of boxing. He became a millionare after that and his career took off that's why it is considered a big win.

    :hat
