Tyson had a lot of speed-power. He put his body into them and his punches were so powerful because they were so fast most boxers just didn't see them coming.
But Holyfield knew from where they were coming, and rolled with them as an elite professional should.
Conversely, Tyson was getting nailed with short straight swift counters he just didn't anticipate, and they were hard punches, hurtful ones.
Holyfield was an adaptable boxer. Tyson was a bit of a programmed fighter.

Totally agree, i always believed EH would beat Mike, for all the reasons you say, plus his unbelievable determination, and heart for a fight.

I used to dream of this fight being made long before it did.

Mike was i think, a little bit rattled by Evander back then, coming out with quotes like we can go in the basement and who comes out with the key is champ, crazy talk.

Shame it didn't happen sooner, but it was one hell of a fight.

    Holyfield had the correct mentality.
Several fighters had the ability to do better against Mike than they did.
What they lacked was the mentality.

Lets be completely honest here. The truths on film. If anyone gets the chance go back and actually watch some of tysons comeback fights. He was a shell of his former self. He wasnt the same fighter anymore. Even bruno v tyson 2. Go back and watch it...tyson wasnt good. The problem was he was getting the knockouts cause the power was still there not the power he had in the early days but he still had power. People just got carried away with it...myself included. People wanted to believe he was back better than ever...people actually believed it. But go back and watch the comeback fights. Its a different fighter completely. He also didnt have the stamina to last with holyfield at that point. Fair play to holyfield he came in prepared and tbf it was probably tysons best version since his comeback. But it was still a version not nearly as good. I ask people to actually watch his comeback fights. Then watch him in his prime. Different fighters. He didnt have the stamina to last with holyfield at that point. He actually fought well in hindsight...because he actually had a half decent preparation for it and the pressure of not disappointing everyone by losing and his good chin kept him in it. But it wasnt the same fighter. We can kid on it was and continue to tell it like that. But for me anyway...his best was long gone. Was still a decent fighter but no longer near his best.
