Why was it easier to make fights in the 60s, 70s. 80s, 90s, and 2000s compared to today?

Well Cotto has always been a great fighter who didn't want to avoid the big challenge's & always brought his best come fight night, the fact he has the large Latino fan base along with his action style helped him maintain that fanbase as they are supportive to their very own ethnicity,

Kind of like if Canelo wasn't Mexican he most likely wouldn't have been consistently pulling those huge numbers regardless of his opposition & have those views that he has had since so many years now as Mexicans/Latinos in general love Boxing like no other & their support especially monetarily is second to none,

That's just a few reasons as to why the fans never gave out on those two fighters plus back in those days the fan's where made of completely different types of people, you saw the majority of them leave the WWF in those Attitude days to go to Boxing & when that got messed up due to fighters ducking/promoter wars they then decided to land where they are now currently which is the UFC Market.

I don’t even watch ufc so they haven’t stolen me away from boxing, I’m just not excited to keep up as much these days. I wouldn’t doubt that a lot of people watch mma though.

 

The crazy paydays fighters expect now days is whats keeping the big fights from getting made. Back then it was about money, but moreso fighters were just satisfied at getting a shot at proving who the best is, and most of those top level guys were willing to make concessions as well. Now a days everybody wants 50/50 splits withought having to do the hardwork to earn it.

 

because you, the fans, like it that way. if you didnt, you wouldnt buy these mismatches. but you do, cause its your fighter, and thats different than all the other duckers. the ones you complain about. you just trade the same excuses for your fighter, that everyone else does for theirs.

Money! Guys can make millions literally fighting nobodies and no hopers. If the fighters make millions you know the promoters are making big bucks. Then the fans crap all over guys that step up and lose. Example, AJ's first loss to Usyk and fans were calling for his retirement. Fans also buy these weak PPV events that have zero meaning.
