    Pretty much so.......:yep

BUT! Johnson prolly felt 260 would give him an edge on the inside, but as we all know, 260 or even 245 wouldn't have helped K.J. on that Dec. 2003 night............ V.K. was on a mission......

    **** u old timer.

kirk woulda gave vitali serious trouble if he was around 220. that extra mobility and quickness combined with slick skill would have left vitali in a world of trouble.

The simple truth was Johnson´s timing was totally off that night, likely due to the extra weight. Throughout the fight he remained aggressive though and threw plenty of shots with mean intentions from a good distance, but just could not land, while Vitali was landing his. Predictably, Vitali´s shots were starting to back Johnson up, but he still tried to counter. Had KJ´s timing been better that night who knows.

Kirk really owns doughnut shops in Nova Scotia? Good for him! Glad to see he invested his money. Nothing personal but Canadians seem to like doughnuts as much or even more than Americans.

Johnson mentally was a midget. He was on the fringes for a long time building a nice record against nobody's. He was then given his first world title shot vs Ruiz. It was an ugly clinched fouled filled affair. With Johnson instigating the clinches for which he was eventually DQ'ed. Ruiz hurt him numerous times and probably would have stopped him. It was then that everyone realised Johnson was just a bum.
Likewise vs Vitali he just "turned up". No one expected him to put in such a joke of an effort and no one expected him to be that heavy. Suffice to say his career went straight down the shitter after that.

Johnson weighed in with two sets of heavy clothes. Might have been 250.

If memory serves correct, he had just signed a 7 figure contract with main events prior to the match and it included a nice bonus.

Johnson was known to be lazy and not dedicated to the hard graft that comes with being a professional boxer. He spent most of his career around 230lbs or less and just as he started to become an actual contender he started getting fat.

A lot of fighters seem to think you need to come in heavy when facing a super heavy like Lewis, Vitali and Wlad. All that does is take away their one advantage, which is speed and movement. He probably thought he didn't stand a chance and being the lazy man he is didn't bother training.
