Why was Manny so hyped up?

When was Floyd's last KO? (I mean a KO where his opponent actually had his hands up, and wasn't looking at a ref?)

Pacquiao isn't hyped as a KO artist that much either. Maybe he was earlier on in his career but then that would have been accurate.

 

Money 60% KO rate Pac 62% KO rate and he was hyped for his knockouts.

There's a reason why announcers state wins, and tell you how many were KOs...they don't say "A total of 61 fights, out of those 38 were by KO" LOL

Precisely, 60%...62% this is why both fighters are seldom hyped as KO artists.
When Pacquiao beat MAB for the first time his KO% was around 72%. His KOs and KDs are higher profile so, as I said, calling him a KO artist earlier in his career would have been more accurate (which if anyone was saying so, it would have been closer to this time).

Now, to your point. You replied to my post in which I said Pacquiao was hyped because he was so good with the question as to when he last had a KO. Are you suggesting not having a particularly recent KO negates a boxer from being good?

 

Pac was hyped because he was a winner. Not just a winner but one that took on the best and made easy work out of most of them. He had speed, power and was relentless...Everyone loved that because he brought excitement to a sometimes dull sport.

And of course his story was pretty incredible as the whole "rags to riches" scenario made him even easier to sell. He's had one of the most incredible stories in sports with how he's made history in his sports career and also as a congressman. he'll have a book or movie about his life before it's all said and done.

No joke at the time his hype was at the highest he was called a knockout artist and not having knockouts has nothing to do with how skilled a fighter is.The question is why was he so hyped what's your opinion?
