I cant understand why people use this argument to this day is if the two extra pounds really helped Floyd against JMM. If anything, given the way he fights didn't slow him down? So why do people still throw it in the air as if it really makes sense?

JMM had to come up two weight classes and Floyd couldn't even drop 2 lbs. JMM compromised to make the fight happen, Floyd did not. He had all the advantages.

Mayweather was 152lbs in the ring vs Marquez, he rehydrated by 6lbs overnight. This was clearly stated in The Ring magazine after the fight. Know your stuff.

PS: Floyd weighed in 4lbs heavier than Marquez anyway, not 2lbs. JMM was 142, Floyd was 146, 2 over the agreed 144 weight limit. Know your stuff again.

Because the point of him signing to fight at 144 was so Marquez could meet him at that weight. Marquez had only 2 fights at 135 at the time and if Floyd wanted the fight at 147, he should've signed the contract in the beginning to fight at 147. Its more the principle. Also given the fight that 2lbs at the weigh in could mean an extra 5+ lbs by fight time and Marquez was already bloated at 142 and probably stayed at that weight. Floyd while even a small welter was probably over 150 which is a weightclass difference. In either case, if Floyd was not going to get in the ring at 144 like they agreed, he should've have signed to fight at that weight.

Well, firstly, Floyd’s decision to pick on a guy who was two weight divisions smaller than him, was bull**** to begin with. The only reason that fight was deemed as acceptable as it was, was because there was at least a catchweight involved. Floyd having to drop a further 3 pounds, could have made JMM’s task not as daunting as it was. Remember, it could have.

So for then Floyd to go and eliminate the only element that made the fight an acceptable one, it made the whole thing even more of a farce. JMM’s what-the-**** face when Floyd weighed in was hilarious . The fact that he [Floyd] did it without even bothering to tell him, let him [JMM] know how insignificant he and the fight really was. Totally unprofessional.

But at the end of the day, him cheating on the scales didn’t make a difference to the outcome. Catchweight or no catchweight, JMM was out-witted in every department. Him being 2 weight divisions smaller didn’t help his cause, though.

PS – Pac’s request for JMM to come up to 145, is very different to Floyd’s. Pac is not a genuine WW fighter that will weigh outweigh JMM by a considerable margin. So don't go bringing that up, *****s.

It's brought up because it's a bull**** position to hold, PBF weighed 152 on fight night, Manny will weight 148-150, so how is there a "two weight class difference" between PBF and JMM, but Manny and JMM are the "same size"?

To add it all, contract regarding the weight was rewritten (or was drawn) the day before the official weigh-in.

I believe even Nacho, at that time before the fight, have no idea what the real weight to be followed.

Pac also can't understand to this day why FMJ wants a blood test if he has tested clean in every other previous fight.

Yes, theres a chance Pac may not even weigh 145 on fight night. He had to eat to get to 148 on fightnight to fight Margarito and he almost never weighs above 150+ on fight night.

In terms of outcome of the fight, it wouldn't have mattered. Floyd owuld have dominated regardless.

From a business perspective, two professional athletes having an agreement/signed contract, Floyd not making weight was dishonorable.
