When Pac asks for a catchweight agaisnt fighters, they say well if the fighters agree then whats the problem.

JMM agreed to go on with the fight and received penalty money.

The weight didnt even mena a thing in the ring....JM just was outclassed.

Well when i said why does it matter i say it because people make it seem as if the extra weight helped him out. He wasn't able to knock him out or bloody him up. Since Floyd is a person who relies on speed and accuracy as well as being able to move around in the ring how would the extra pounds help him out. Wouldn't it hurt him obviously??

Imagine if Mayweather drained himself down to 135lbs for that fight, he would not have looked as sharp.

That was the only way to give Marquez some sort of an even playing field and make the fight the fairest it could be. If Floyd didn't want to be drained, he shouldn't have taken the fight at a catchweight, which was the only way it would've been a viable sell. When he failed to honor the catchweight, the fight became a farce. He should've been fighting one of the top welters.

Honestly what FMJ is smart and he is doing it his way in a cruel business. When you are the top dog you get away with this, and FMJ fought his way to the top.

However it irks me when he talks about being the best of all time when other, greater fighters have taken bigger risks on a more even playing field. Only the gullible believe this.

and you knowing this what does that tell you about Mannys catchweights?:think
now if a normal 154 pound fighter is draining himself to make 154 what do you think having him come down to 150 is going to do to him? and in knowing that what do you think making him come all the way down to 147 is going to do to him?
so what does all this really say about Mannys wins over De La Hoya, Cotto, and Margarito???:think

I seriously don't understand what you're trying to say in the first sentence, based on the post you quoted.

    from boxingnews24:

'Marquez says that Mayweather was even bigger the night of the fight, saying “It was approximately 15 pounds once we got inside the ring.” If this is true, then Marquez, weighing 142, was basically fighting a middleweight version of Mayweather on that night.'

So you'd rather him fight a weaker knock off version of PBF? Is this what Manny did to Cotto...drained him?
