 trying to make 144 is weighing almost near to it and trying to sweat it out. floyd and his team had requested already to change the contract to 147 days before the weigh-in to avoid paying a fine to the commissions. that doesn't sound like "trying to make the weight."

I have no doubts that he tried to make the weight. However, he wasn't willing to drain himself to do it.

that's a good way to spin it. but from the beginning, they both agreed to fight at 144 catchweight. they are trying to sell a competitive fight based on the reason that floyd would meet this weight. floyd could have tried making it but maybe 2 weeks before the actual weigh-in he thinks it's not a good decision and would not let give away any advantage and just pay the fine which is peanuts to his purse.

so when you said that floyd tried making the weight, until what point of his training you think he tried to do it?

so floyd tried to make weight by weighing 146 for a 144 fight and paying the overweight fine? that to me and everyone else makes more sense right? :patsch :rofl

Who give's a **** about the weight. Floyd's weight had absolutely no affect on the outcome of the fight. Floyd's skill is what beat JMM, not his physique. If anything, this fight proved that JMM probably doesn't belong in any fight higher than 140. Media doesn't even talk about this issue because it's a waste of time nobody cares about it except Floyd's haters. Floyd said **** 2 lbs. and Marquez got some extra money. Afterwards JMM said he didn't feel comfortable at the weight. He didn't mention a thing about Floyd being to big. *******s need to get over it. Like the Castillo I fight.
