Why Was Mayweather Weighing Two Pounds Heavier Than JMM A Big Deal

Anyway, people make out as if those few pounds would make the difference, but in reality If Floyd was drained and Marquez was fighting at a more suitable weight the result would be the same. FLoyd By UD.

Irrelevant really. I don't think that's the issue here, I think most people are focused on whether Marquez can be too small for Mayweather but a similar size to Pacquiao, which is quite correct as Mayweather is bigger than Pacquiao.

No they did not. Lampley announced Mayweather refused to be weighted unofficially by HBO. He never unofficially stepped on the scales.

 

He should of got in the steam room or used some diuretics to keep his word, it wouldn't have affected his performance as he can rehydrate with water/rehydration salts, arrogant really

I don't think he was he didn't step on the scale, I think he was probably more if anything because 6pounds is nothing to cut, then again I doubt the Mayweathers have a clue about cutting weight as they haven't got experience in it

 

It is clearly stated in The Ring magazine, send your opinion on the issue to them not me, I don't give a rat's ****hair what you have to say about it, dispute it with those who published those figures.

 

You can't tell how much a guy weighs just by looking at him. I've seen Berto's fight night weight listed in the low 150's and he looks a lot bigger than that. Clottey's fight night weight is usually around 155. For Mayweather to be coming in at 160, he would actually have be a relatively large WW.

 

I wouldn't say dishonorable, the contract called for it, fmj didn't do it so he had to give up the dollars. I didn't hear jmm complaining, he got well paid... twice.

 

Pac fought Marquez with a bad shoulder, bad sock, weight drained and forgot how to use Manilla Ice (he got it in the first Morales fight)

Floyd fought a bloated Marquez and FLoyd cheated him on the scales and those 2 pounds made the fight go from a split decision to a shut out. And don't forget that Floyd just came off a vacation to cycle out roids

 

Well Mayweather clearly stated after the Mosley fight, that he weighed 147lbs. on fight night for that fight.

Floyd did what he wanted to do to be comfortable, the contract gave he room to pay a penalty for every pound over so he decided to pay that fee, Floyd could have weighed 135lbs that night and still kicked JMM ass, it was a clinic of technical boxing no power boxing, rough housing or brawling, the weight didn't make a difference....

Floyd didn't wanna be drained like others fighters who struggle to make weight and come in weak, if JMM didn't want to fight a bigger man he should have stayed at light-weight, even if Floyd would have come in at 144 he still would have out-weighed Juan, so the two pounds is irrelevant...

It's Floyd so anything he does is going to be scrutinized, Eddie Chambers came in damn near 50lbs less than Wlad we don't hear no one bitching about those type of advantages, if they didn't want to give Floyd room to come in overweight they should have put it in the contract instead of allowing him to pay for it...
