I believe that you model your style based on your strengths and weaknesses. Of course there are exceptions however, if you have a tough chin and a big puncher, you are likely to wanna go emulate someone who goes for the kill. If you have fast reflexes and a weak chin, you are gonna fight a defensive game to protect that chin. If you are tall and fast you may want to fight from the outside, etc. Pac is fast, good chin and good power hence why he loves a good brawl, cos 99% of the time he will get the better of it. I believe Floyds chin is suspect which is why he protects it dearly taking minimal risks and instead adapts to a style to hide his weaknesses and show his strengths. His strength being speed and reflexes, he can make fighters miss very well protecting the chin and capitalise with his reflexes and speed to counter back.
I agree. I wouldn't necessarily say Floyd's chin is china, but it isnt his stength nor is his punching power (especially at WW.)
No floyd has NEVER been hit before in a fight before then. The guy clearly has a china chin. Cotto took flush shots on his chin all night to no effect. Cotto chin> floyd chin.
Different fights Different nights Different punches landed same as any other 'why could he hurt him but not him' type scenarios.
I didn't even wasted my time watching the one against Pinto, even the broadcasters said that Cotto got hit with a clean right hand(and two more prior to the one in the corner). He wasn't as hurt as I think it was, but he was getting rocked with those rights, 30 seconds into the round, no doubt a huge breather that helped him to survive and win that night.
